Is the babyliss big hair thingy worth it?

Hello!
I've been considering buying a babyliss big hair styler. I've got very straight and very fine hair but a lot of it (iyswim!). Are they worth it? Almost nothing gives my hair volume so was wondering what people's experiences were.
Thanks 😊

When I had longer hair (mine is chin length now) I got a lot of use out of it. It made my fine hair bouncy and shiny. I did get through one a year though and I’ve heard that from a lot of people.

I like mine. There are some useful YouTube tutorials as well

I haven’t really got on with it but my hair is very wavy/frizzy, long and thick. I also feel like it is quite damaging to my hair. People rave about it on here though so I think I’m in the minority!

I got one 3 days ago. I'm useless at doing my hair. I can straighten it well but don't like to do that a lot as don't want to damage it.

I was going to get an airwrap but I've made so many experience hair gadget mistakes, thought I'd try the big hair first.

I really like it. Used it twice and it's easy to get and my hair looks good and is very silky. Didn't have to use my straighteners either.

My hair is boob length and wavy. Fine but a lot of it. So far it seems money well spent.

I have straight fine hair and and it’s just ok - doesn’t give loads of volume and definitely not waves/curls that hold. But I can get a better overall looking blow dry with it than just a hairdryer and big barrel brush. I’m thinking I maybe should have bought the smaller barrelled one.

I had high hopes but sadly it seemed too much for my fine damaged hair to cope with. I have very delicate, temperamental and grumpy hair though. Grin I'm working on the condition and it's improving, (slowly...) so I'm hanging onto the Big Hair in the hope that one day, in the far away future probably, that I can use it properly! It sounds great and I know loads on here swear by it.

They had a dupe of it in Lidl today, quite a bit cheaper.
I have one, but only use to finish off my hair as it would take forever using as a hairdryer only, it does smooth & make it a bit straighter.

I love mine and have had it for years. I have very thick chin length hair. I roughly blow dry, use big hair and it gives it so much volume, then I go over it with GHDs. Looks great. I wouldn't hesitate to replace if it broke!

Angelicwings · 03/01/2019 20:22

Oh and I'm working on improving the condition by not using any heat whatsoever among other things, so I wash it in the evenings when I'm not doing anything else and leave it to air dry. It's definitely helping not using heat. For a bouncier effect naturally I wait for it to be 3/4 dry naturally then put velcro rollers in (very gently) for about an hour. Not much good for a morning routine though as it all would take too long.

I like it for my chin length hair - it's easy and quick. I do get better results with a round brush and blow dryer but it's not as easy as the big hair.
