Struggling with DD eczema

She is 9 and is getting it pretty badly on her face. Very red around her eyes and mouth, dry and flaky too. We have been using hydrocortisone religiously twice a day but it has not been overly helpful.

Tried lots of moisturisers including Aveeno cream. She doesn't use soap or anything in her bath, just the prescribed bath oils.

Any help welcomed.

My dd has very bad eczema so I do sympathise. Are you getting advice from the GP or a paediatrician? We eventually saw a paediatric dermatologist who was very helpful. DD had an eczema nurse who came to our home and taught us about wet wrapping and emollients. We had to try many as she was allergic to most. The one we find helps most is DERMAL and you can get a soap substitute, a bath additive and creams. Bath/wash, pat dry and within 3 minutes apply emollient. The dermatologist told us to use hydrocortisone ointment only never cream. We put ointment on first then emollient. We avoid all known allergens for DD ( who is now 19 and has been like this since under 1). She is allergic to sooooo many things but our home is as scent free as we can get.

Recently the eczema has been much worse and not easily controllable (sparked by chemotherapy we think) and we have tried moogo as an extra. We tried samples first and were very rigid with testing. DD doesn't like the feel of the stuff much but it seems to work so she uses the scalp cream ( hair growing back is very itchy after chemo!) and the irritable skin creamplus the regular moisturising cream on her face. I apply it for her and I think it's good my hands too! GPS are under a lot of pressure to use generic drugs but eczema is one they will sometimes make an exception for ( so despite cut backs DD has kept her 'expensive' Dermal but we can't get Moogoo despite it being on the approved list).

DD only wears cotton and all her bedding is cotton. We use non bio washing powder. We use an air filter in her room. The Hoover is a HEPA one.

Do ask any questions if I can help. Eczema is horrible
