Humour me... wedding not till late may...… however I have some xmas money burning a hole in my pocket and would like to cheer myself up with a pretty dress purchase.
Its my cousins wedding in late May. Big country house type affair.
Im late 30's 5 ft 6 and an 8/10 with strawberry blonde hair. I proper love this dress but don't know if its a bit OTT for guest rather than a bridesmaid. I know its a bit fussy, though appreciate its not to everyones taste it is quite "me".

Yes it’s too bridesmaidy but the short one is absolutely gorgeous and would work with flats.

Both the long and the short one are really pretty. I'd be inclined to buy the long one just so you can swish about in it at home for five minutes!

Please don't pair it with a scruffy blazer like the above post. What is that about?!!

I don’t think that the shorter one is any less bridesmaidy, tbh. It looks like a bridesmaid’s dress because it’s pale pink, embellished, and tulle, in both lengths.

It certainly needs careful styling to minimise the bridesmaid vibe. It needs something over the top, but a bolero, shrug, or shawl would all be too bridesmaidy. A blazer could look fab over the maxi unless you are very small-framed, in which case it might swamp you (I don’t think it does look scruffy - it’s just over a more casual dress).

I really think if you just shorten the long one it will look fab as a wedding guest dress.
