Experiences of Colour B4?

Can anybody tell me how they got on with this? I have dyed my mid brown hair for years to cover the grey but my regular hair dye changed formula recently and suddenly left me almost black. It’s far too dark for me and people constantly tell me it makes me look washed out!
If you have used it: did it work? Did you have to use it more than once?
Can I dye again straight away?
Apparently it smells minging! Any suggestions on how to get rid of the smell afterwards?

I’ve used it a couple of times and it left me with a coppery orange colour after removing black dye. You also have to make sure you rinse it out really well as I found my hair would start to turn dark again, something to do with washing all of the colour particles out? It doesn’t smell great at all like rotten eggs! ☹️

That’s interesting Miss , did it turn complete black again? How long did it take to go dark again? I want to dye over it again ASAP so it wouldn’t bother me if it went a bit darker again, I just don’t want it to go back to black!

Hey I used the extra strength one and it did work pretty well but definitely left a copper colour on my hair.

I used it after too many dark brown dyes eventually turned my hair black.
From what I can remember i needed to do it twice and had hardly any damage to my hair which is fairly long. It initially goes patchy and orangey I left it a day (did it over the weekend and put it up in a bun) before putting a colour on closest to my natural. Would personally recommend it to people x

Ive used it and it does not take you back to your original colour no matter what the packet says.

You need to rinse it for ages and ages, its very important as a) you want to get rid of the smell and (b) if you dont rinse it fully then the colour will return within 48 hrs.

My hair was very coppery after it was done and felt dry. The packet says not to.dye it within 48 hrs, if you intend to follow that then make sure you have no where to go for that 48 hrs as its not a flattering look. If you dye it within the 48 hrs then use a lighter shade then you would like as it will end up darker than the colour on the box by a couple of shades. This is.because your hair is.more porous and absorbs more of the colour.

It does work and quickly, if you want an alternative then get some johnsons baby shampoo and wash your hair several times a day for a.few days. I have no idea whats in the stuff but it really strips hair dye and will lighten your existing colour.

It didn’t go completely black again just patchy and darker I think it appeared that way probably the day after I’d used it. From what I can remember you can colour your hair again straight after.

It can’t take you back to your ‘natural colour’ because the hair dye you’ve been using over the years contains peroxide, so while it dyes your hair brown it also lightens it underneath (weird I know!).

I dye mine black and when I used Colour B4 it ended up almost blonde as it had been lightened by the black dye so much - but that was at least helpful for adding back another colour on top.

Agree that you have to rinse rinse rinse really well (use a timer, as the length of time you have to rinse feels like forever and you’ll never do it for long enough without a timer)

Please excuse dodgy snapchat filter and add ons - I’m in disguise Grin
