Home hair dye kits

I’ve bought myself some home hair dye kits. They’re the Excellence ones. I had balayage done the last time I went to the hairdresser so I’m wondering if someone could tell me, if I use the dye kits on the balayage will it go green?!

Quite possibly but it depends on the colour of the new dye?
I wouldn't put black on top of bleached blonde for example bitter experience talking 😂

Oh no it’s not black! It’s a shade of brown.

The hairdresser who did it for me put the blonde over the brown that I had which also had a shade of red added. The blonde isn’t blonde anymore it’s kinda brassy? Don’t know if that makes a difference...

Sounds like you'd probably be ok. Although are you covering it because it's brassy? If you want to keep the blonde bits I'd start washing your hair with avedas blue malva. It's expensive but brilliant at eliminating brassy tones. I used to use it to keep my platinum blonde as white as I could get it.

As for going to brown, safest option is to go slow. If you've bought a dark brown then I'd do a slightly lighter one first, give it a couple weeks to settle and go darker.

If it's a medium brown you've bought you should be ok to go straight for it, I'd just avoid swimming baths for a while 😊

Yes covering because it’s brassy but also the grey that’s come through again The grey is the main issue to be honest!
