Yeah they are a bit

gaggiagirl · 01/01/2019 00:33

Yes. Sorry.

Pearlgrey1 · 01/01/2019 00:37

Yes very 🙈

Evennow · 01/01/2019 00:40

Yes, sorry, and I am old. I wouldn’t wear them...

TakenForSlanted · 01/01/2019 00:41

Sorry, yes. It's the heel, it's too thick.

Two tips from a reluctant heel-wearer:

  1. Tamarisk do some pretty cheap and ridiculously comfy heels.

  2. I carry a pair of trainers in my bag and only ever change around the corner from the office; I also take them off when sitting at my desk.

*Tamaris

How about this?

Fractionally better.

DietRite · 01/01/2019 01:05

What are examples of non-frumpy work shoes then?

My other option is this:

Your other option is a lot better.

In general: if you're going for a heel it should normally look kind of ... dainty, for the lack of a better word.

With flats, you essentially have two options:

a) something that resembles a man's dress shoe in general. This is your alternative and will work with trousers.

b) more of a ballerina style. Will also work with a dress/skirt.

Source: more than a decade in a corporate job and a burning desire to not be killed by my feet. Wink

I also have these.

So with the Dr Martens and these, am I all set?

I wouldn't say those are work shoes OP.
What type of work do you do?

LunaTheCat · 01/01/2019 07:38

I like the other option.
The last option is not a work shoe.

DietRite · 01/01/2019 07:48

I'm going to be a graduate in a telecoms company. Smart casual dress code.

babysharkah · 01/01/2019 09:59

None are appropriate go and get some work shoes.

Pinkyyy · 01/01/2019 10:01

OP what type of outfits do you plan to wear? The choices you're giving are quite confusing. The Doc martens wouldn't be a work shoe in my opinion.

motortroll · 01/01/2019 10:06

I wear doc martens shoes to work in a smart casual situation. I wear then with tapered trousers and an oversized untucked shirt.

But I'm probably old and unstylish lol. I also wear loafers and occasionally a shirt dress with low heeled boots.

DietRite · 01/01/2019 10:20

I'm planning to wear something along the lines of these. So slim black pants + button down shirt or nice top or nice cardigan over top.

Suggestions?

Clark’s Hambke Oak brogue - probably on sale atm. Last wells and if you get the tan they work with both black and navy.

I'd say so
