Have always had fine hair but a decent amount of it but it still just hangs so limply!
I’ve tried bazillions of shampoos and conditioners and sprays etc and nothing makes any difference. I currently wear it just below my shoulders but I’m at my wits end with it - it never looks nice or polished or styled.

if you have similar hair do you have any tricks/styling tips or hair cuts that transformed your hair into swishy wonderfulness?

goes off to google swishy hair jealously

www.superdrug.com/Hair/Shampoo/Dry-Shampoo/Batiste-Big-it-Up-XXL-Volume-Spray-200ml/p/537801?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjJLBxdfI3wIVEOh3Ch244wA-EAsYASABEgIrbPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Mine is shoulder length because it's overdue a cut. I find it easier to manage when it's between chin and shoulder. I do have some natural wave though which helps and I use a cheapo air styler to dry it. The second day I use the Batiste volume spray in the layers underneath and around the crown and then do some gentle back combing. You have to use a little sparingly though otherwise it makes your hair feel like crap. I personally don't want to look like I've just stepped out a salon since that's too " done" for me

I agree with PP who said Batiste dry shampoo (for between washes, if I wash hair every day mine goes really greasy) and Aussie Mega Shampoo. Also Lush 'Big' salt shampoo is pretty good for making my hair bigger. My hair is very fine and greasy and mid length. I've tried all different shampoos and different thickening sprays and so on and most of them don't seem to anything apart from those I've mentioned TBH. Babyliss Big Hair sounds intriguing...

thanks for suggestions.
I have a pretty crap hairdryer actually so maybe that’s also part of the problem, might browse the sales and see what’s about

You are my people.

I find that a one length style between chin and shoulders is best. The Dyson air wrap is brilliant but pricey, big hair is OK for me but still makes it frizz.

I wash every other day with a gentle shampoo and conditioner, then aveda hair thickening tonic or mousse. Blow-dry upside down using a parlux hairdryer, then finish with either big hair or barrel brush. My Dyson air wrap is on its way Grin

Littlechocola · 31/12/2018 14:24

I stopped using conditioner. Makes a massive difference for me.

BeaLola · 31/12/2018 14:31

Finding this really helpful . Have fine long hair . Mid back length - but quite a lot of hair .

Had thought Babylis big hair would be too powerful for my hair ? Didn’t realise GhD Air thing came in a fibe version.

What I need is to try these appliances somewhere ?( my local salons - rural- do not gave up to date stuff).

Harrykanesrightsock · 31/12/2018 14:36

I have eventually give up and have a pixie cut with a heavy side fringe. Nothing worked for me but my hair is both very fine and very thin.

Epanoui · 31/12/2018 16:17

I have a pixie cut too. My hair just looks way way better short! I think a classic bob looks good too.

tierraJ · 31/12/2018 17:11

I'd have my hair cut shorter but it curls too easily!

sulee · 31/12/2018 19:42

Glad I’m not alone! Mine is thinning and fragile too as I get older!! Have had every style going- currently pixie, but am growing back to a bob as finding pixie a bit unforgiving and I can vary styles with a bob- wavy/straight etc. I find washing every two days best and minimal use of heated appliances. I use Velcro rollers to style when my hair is almost dry as Big Hair was too drying.
