Does anyone buy used jewellery? Looking alternative to eBay

As it says, I'd like to look somewhere else for a piece I might like to buy. I'm after 18ct gold earrings or maybe a bracelet. eBay doesn't seem that bargainous lately. There's a quarterly auction near my pils & that's the only other I've previously used.

Would love somewhere else to browse - older quirky items from real life auctions are good, don't know where to look!

Following to see where to sell high end jewellery. Sorry to comment for self serving reasons Blush

What have you got pickle?! I'd recommend looking out a local fine arts & jewellery auction. Particularly if you have anything unusual- best time to sell is before Christmas - this is when the one I know has best jewellery. Seems bad that selling you'd probably normally not get much more than scrap, but buying second hand it's hard to buy close to that level!

If you look at the saleroom dot com you can see jewellery from all over the UK for sale at auctions.

Sell in a local auction with a reserve that you are happy at.

Have a look at antiques atlas to find out where there are any good antiques fairs or auctions near to you
I buy a lot of antique jewellery (used to be a dealer) and sell it when I get bored with it
Try antiques centres as well rather than jewellers
PM me if you want suggestions depending on where you live

Etsy have vintage jewellery. My dh buys lovely things for me from a curios shop nearby.

It's my mum, she has so much its ridiculous. Diamonds and other stones which are appearantly rare, rings pendants... Its like a hobby to collect them. Now because she has no idea about the internet, she thinks I can just sell her a few bits just like that! Maybe an etsy shop is the way to go.

Ooh pickle, I'd love a good poke round your mum's stuff! Might be worth trying eBay with a reserve price - just check you have special delivery rates to cover insurance. My bil buys a lot of high end antique stuff from eBay

@JaceLancs - I'm Northern Ireland so more limited but if you happen to know anywhere worth looking, that would be great, thanks!
