Looking for interesting clothes

Hiya I am looking to replace my wardrobe this year. Its full of tesco / sainsburys basic - usually bought from the sale rail.
I would like to spend more but have better quality clothes.

In my head I prefer more grown up clothes with structure and slightly glamorous. In reality I wear ankle boots, skinny jeans and a stripey top.

I am 5.4ft tall, size 18 (losing weight slooowly down from a 22), with big boobs, big bum and tummy. I do have a waist sort of and look best in navy, green and teal.

I keep waiting until I lose weight to treat myself to nice clothes as then I will deserve them but bollocks to that, if I look good I will feel good and life is short.

However all the clothes I can find are so dull. I have dressed like a 90s student since I was one and now at nearly 40 want to look like a grown up but have literally no clue. Can anyone help, you lot are great at this Grin and I need your help, please.

Full outfits and how to mix it up with links would be amazing, if that's not to big an ask. Budget ridiculously small but happy to wait and save plus I have a credit card Smile

Head off to a big town and look at the high-end high street shops and dept stores for inspiration.

I find Pinterest helpful - cheaper than magazines. If there is someone who’s style you like can put their name in and then put style -I find Rachel Khoo quirky .
I also like a website called “The Sartorialst” - some high end style but lots originality too.
I also find a scarf and bright lipstick makes me feel instantly very chic
Grooming is important - a good haircut and well manicured nails and lots hancream in winter.
As good quality handbag and shoes as you can afford. Comfortable shoes too else the pain will show on your face!
Mix it up as well -so boots with floral dresses, jeans with ballerina flats, converse with a feminine skirt.
Have fun!

Head to Pinterest and start building a collection of things you like. Pin pictures of celebs who you think look good and wear things you would also wear. Don't go to a shop website (or in store) and trawl through pages/racks of stuff, search for pieces instead. When you have a good selection of pins pick out the pieces you like. A red oversize jumper, a black polo neck, blue dungerees, whatever it is, Google it or search on eBay. Do a bit of research on materials and when you do go looking for things check the label to see it how it feels and how it hangs.

Interesting clothes are everywhere but you won't find them by looking in interesting shops.

Thanks for the tips, I already have a pininterest board of lovely interesting clothes.

I.have learnt from here to look at what materials the item is made from and choose natural fabrics.

Thanks for all the advice, all other tips gratefully received. Tia

Yes to looking online. If I want something specific, I might need to keep looking but it will usually turn up, much cheaper and if it doesn't suit I relist it.
I'm also a keen charity shopper and often find high end stuff in excellent condition that's probably out of season. It's not to everyone's taste, I suppose.
I also like going to boutique type shops in affluent areas.
