Tell me it will grow quickly!

My hair had got far too long and was driving me mad so I had a long overdue visit to the hairdressers. Talked about a mid length style, sort of long bob with a few layers as my hair is quite thick.

Well I’ve ended up with it far shorter than discussed and the layers just seem to be rather random and all over the place. It looked fine when the hairdresser had straightened and styled it but now at home I can’t do anything with it!

Tell me it won’t be long until it grows and I can’t get something done to even out the layers? I can’t even tie it up easily at the minute!

This has happened to me so many times. You need vitamins and the mantra ‘it’s only hair’ to mutter to yourself when you pass a mirror. Flowers

Thanks! Managed to get it into a semi respectable wavy style last night but took ages and it only lasted an hour before it dropped! Think straightening to within an inch of its life every day is going to be the best bet till it grows enough to sort the random layers out!

This is why I think hairdressers and paying for fancy haircuts is a con, they use all sort of wizardry to make what they've done look good as you leave the salon, but it's often impossible to recreate at home. I went for a long bob at 13, but the hairdresser instead shaved the back of my head with clippers telling me it would look great 'like Chanel from big brother' and she would 'just show me'! I have had one professional trim in the decade since, and do the rest myself.

It will grow out eventually OP, I second the recommendation for some vitamins to help with the growth in the meantime.

Not sure I can take some vitamins as I’m pregnant but I will have a look and see if I can find some.

As you're pregnant it will probably grow faster than usual :-)

I think when you get a new haircut it takes a while for your hair to adjust to the difference in weight so it bounces up and sticks out etc for a wee bit. I'd say put not heat or product in itfor a few days to let it recover then see how it's doing.
