Moving to foundation from tinted moisturiser

I have been using nars and Bobbi brown tinted moisturiser in the palest shade for years. I love the texture but I need more coverage as I get older, skin is prone to redness and there’s some sun damage turning up on my cheeks. What can I try? My previous issues with foundation have been the cakey texture as it sits on my skin. Help!

I moved from Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser for the same reasons and have found Bourjois Healthy Mix serum fits the bill

I've started using no7 custom blend drops.

I mix it with a moisturiser or primer so it's still light but you can build it up. I was quite shocked at how much it is for a tiny bottle but it's lasting ages.

Bobbi Brown has quite a few foundations, you could go to the counter and try some? Ask them to put a few on your face and then wear them for a bit to see what they’re like.

If you find things cake or go patchy, you might need more moisturiser on your skin first.

The YSL Touch Eclat foundation is very light and easy to blend. Armani has some oil based foundations that are supposed to be good.

At a lower price point, Bourjois as suggested above. Their palest shade might not be light enough though. L’Oreal True Match has a great shade selection, No7 also pretty good.

You’ll likely want to avoid anything that says “long lasting” as they tend to be thicker and they set quickly so you have to apply them more carefully.
