Hi, has anyone got any experience with the jewellery company Angelic diamonds? Reviews online seem very good, but always good to hear about personal experience. Thanks

I've not heard of them. Do you have a link to the website?

Didn't want to read and run.

Don't do it. Don't buy a diamond of .5 ct or more off the internet unless you have seen the actual IGA or other independent certificate. Diamonds are beautiful and they are expensive. Educate yourself thoroughly if you have not already.

Last year, I shopped for a diamond solitaire pendant on the high street in my London-commuter Cathedral city. There are several very naice jewelry stores to visit. Whilst I knew that business are just that, in it for the money, I was disappointed by how poor a quality of diamond they were trying to flog.

If you want to buy online in the UK (and that is probably how you'll get the best stone), I recommend Steven Stone. The price will be similar and you will be able to select your stone(s) specifically so that you know the quality. After all my research last winter, in my opinion, the easiest way to get the most sparkly stone is to go for a perfectly cut round brilliant. Compromise on colour and clarity if you need to because if your stone is less than 2 carats, those don't matter as much because it's the precision geometry of the cut which delivers the flash and sparkle. Princess cuts look bigger because they are are but the geometry of the cut is much more complicated and the angles are less likely to be aligned accurately. Furthermore they are often graded by the statistics for a round cut which don't actually apply - the angles that make a beautiful round cut don't produce a flashy, fiery princess cut.

this website is aimed at Americans so doesn't discuss British retailers but it helped me a lot with the facts: www.prosumerdiamonds.com/princess-cut/
