Anyone else went back to natural brows?

After year and years of plucking then waxing then threading, tinting and filling and shaping I realised I was just so over it, it took me around a year 😮 to grow them in properly but now they have I actually quite like them!
Now around once a month I pluck any rogues and if I’m going out I might fill in any gaps and go over them with some gimme brow but apart from that they’re all natural!
They are very dark though so tinting really didn’t make that much difference and now they look so much thicker at the ends (years of overgrooming had left them very thin) ok so they’re not what’s “in” now but omg so much less faff!
Just wanted to see if anyone else also embraced the au naturale look?

I have always had quite fine eyebrows so never plucked when that was fashionable and now (as I did in the 80s) think they look quite thin.

DSis plugged hers badly and looked permanently surprised and then a couple of years ago grew them back to her natural shapes and they look so good now.

No, I look like a Gallagher brother two weeks after having them threaded. I won’t be going back to natural any time soon.

MissMalteser · 11/12/2018 15:12

@klobuchar 😂 I guess I’m lucky as there’s no monobrow or pubesesque looking hairs there so they still do look quite arched, i found I felt the same a few weeks after threading, they just got too high maintenance if I’m honest!

I think my brows are fairly natural-looking.

I only pluck stray hairs - the shape is pretty good. I've never really been plucking them a lot - I think I've generally been quite lazy about my brows in the past.

My brows are very blonde, to the point of being invisible if I leave them, so I used to tint them, but during pregnancy I haven't as to avoid the chemicals.

Instead, I've been giving them a bit of colour with a matte eye shadow (Mac Omega, seems to be a good colour for me), brush through them, and use a clear brow gel just to set the hairs and colour in place.
IMO, it looks soft and natural, but at least it looks like I have eyebrows.

I wish I could leave mine with no brow make up. I over plucked and now at 40, they don’t seem keen on growing back, I’m so full of regret!

Rednaxela · 11/12/2018 18:54

If I wanted to look like a grumpy yeti!

Some people naturally have quite delicate shapely eyebrows. Whereas to some people Mother Nature gave two mating caterpillars. Myself in the second category there..

YouWereRight · 11/12/2018 19:01

I've never done more than run a clear brow gel through my eyebrows because I got it in an advent calendar. Doing stuff to my eyebrows always looks to sore.

Klobuchar · 11/12/2018 19:07

You kind of get used to the pain of threading and it can actually be quite nice (I’m a weirdo, I know) and the results can be amazing and lift your whole face. Seriously, it’s the cheapest face lift on the market.

I think a mistake a lot of people make with brows is making them a tadpole shape and/ or making them too short. The start of your brow should be directly up from the corner of your eye.

Sitranced · 11/12/2018 19:41

I've only ever plucked the strays between the eyes to stop the monobrow but never used anything to colour them in.

Dafspunk · 11/12/2018 19:44

I’m amazed it only took you a year to get them back - mine have taken well over 5, probably nearer to 10. This is the first year I’ve been quite pleased with them in a long long time.

a beautician told me this once... sadly no-one told my eyebrows as they don't quite make it that far across my face Grin

Isleepinahedgefund · 11/12/2018 20:20

Yep I did, and they look so much nicer and more natural now! I leave them alone except for the tidying up the odd stray hair and some in the middle.

SunshineOutdoors · 11/12/2018 20:21

Wow, do you really get more growth after 5-10 years? I’d given up hope of my over plucked ones ever growing back

Fatted · 11/12/2018 20:23

Nope! Mine have been over plucked to the point of no return!

I'm not too bothered. I don't wear make up every day and I only draw them on the days I wear make up.

hendricksy · 11/12/2018 21:26

Im 44 and have never plucked my eyebrows . In my opinion it's very ageing to have thin over plucked eye brows .

Nineoutoftenducks · 12/12/2018 09:39

I think that’s why I overplucked mine in the 90’s hendricksy , I wanted to look older.

Apparently caster oil helps them grow? I bought some but forget to use it.
