Is there a cream/gel/oil that will reduce scarring?

I have some deep, pitted acne scarring that I would like to try to reduce and smooth. Have seen silicone gels on amazon. Do these work? Are there any other products that I could try?

I used this following an op on the recommendation of a doctor. I obviously don’t know what the scar would have been without it, but my scar is not that noticeable

I've used Bio oil and La Roche Posay effaclar duo (and I think there's a correction one)

I don't have acne scarring so not sure how effective it would be

There might be something on the LRP website

I’ve used Palmers Scar Serum on scars from medical treatments//‘stitches and thought it was effective.

Thank you!

The dermatix gel was the one that I was looking at along with another one (will find the name for it). Having read the reviews I’m not sure it will work on old scarring, has anyone successfully reduced old scars before?

Yku can have tiny injections of filler into deep icepick scarring which is very effective.
Otherwise it's all about retexturising with acids and retinol and then using plumping serums/sheet masks/moisturisers to hydrate and plump up.
You could consider IPL or microdermabrasion or dermarollering to promote collagen formation to plump them out.
Then a silicone based primer to smooth over everything for going out and about.
The silica sheets unfortunately don't work as well on old scars.

Kelo cote scar gel did wonder for my c section scar.

Sorry I meant to add, it depends on whether your scars are raised or depressed - the silica type products are for raised scarring but won't work on indentation. So a C section scar is very different to acne scarring which tends to be pitted.

JMAngel do you recommend any products for retexturising? I have the indeed labs retinol resurface (think I possibly bought that for wrinkles Grin) would that be a place to start or not strong enough? You’re right, they are like indentations, small but quite a few of them and to me appear more noticeable when I wear make up unless it’s really heavy.

I think Rosehip oil is supposed to help with scarring.

Yes resurface would be good build up slowly at nightime and use a micro cloth to exfoliate off in morning.
if your skin can handle it, consider adding in glycolic or lactic acid too.
