Footner hard skin think I may have callous feet

Just used some footner yesterday as raved about on an old mumsnet thread. I did read the instructions and left it on for the full 60 mins with a pair of socks on top of the footner socks. I know i’m Impatient but today still no radical transformation (just rough dry skin)? I mainly shower rather than take baths to get the best results should I;
Soak everyday in warm soapy water?
Use a pumice pedegg or foot-file?
Do anything else or just be patient?
Also I kept feeling like my socks were slipping down and rubbing on the bottom of my feet when doing a lot of walking especially Christmas shopping then on Saturday I now think I may have a callous or callous skin on the balls of my feet which could be the cause of my discomfort not my socks or shoes. What is the best way to get rid of this wise women of MN please? Also any other cheaper alternatives to Footner out there that work? Thanks

It takes up to a week to start working

I just want to ask about the callousness of your feet. Can they sit through Love Actually without sniffling? Do they remain firmly unmoved at that bit in Toy Story 3? Enquiring bored minds want to know Grin

At least 5-7 days before it's starts to shed.

Redcrayons · 10/12/2018 13:07

Takes a few days to get going, so be patient. They do get worse before the skin starts coming off

VanGoghsDog · 10/12/2018 13:08

I use a cheaper version from Amazon, works fine. But they do take a week to start. Don't do anything until the peeling starts, then soak.

If it doesn't work, see a chiropodist.

DearTeddyRobinson · 10/12/2018 18:33

I followed the Footner instructions to the letter. Absolutely no effect whatsoever. See a chiropodist! Then the Newton's chiropody sponge to keep the hooves at bay

Shitonthebloodything · 10/12/2018 18:40

I've never used this stuff but I can highly recommend a salon callus peel treatment and their aftercare moisturizer. Works wonders on even the roughest hooves.

Go to a decent foot health practitioner/ podiatrist and get the skin properly bladed off and taken down. Footner will only touch the surface, i spend all day properly debriding the feet of people who have tried everything including footner to remove hard skin. It will remove a bit,but nothing like letting a professional do it. Plus the use of acid can have negative effects on some people who react badly to it. All of your callus is from friction, so don't be tempted to waste your money on a pedi roller either, as all of the rubbing and foot filing will increase the callus. And trust me i know!

Thanks all still not a lot has happened since Sunday I have emailed two professionals but no one has got back to me yet.

I have used footner for years because can’t stand people touching my feet. At first it didn’t get rid of the hard build up skin on the ball of my foot. Eventually after about 18months of regular use I finally had lovely soft feet.

Now I do them every with so often with footner and use a Newton sponge frequently along with some flexitol cream to keep then softer. I’d start soaking your feet to get the footner treatment going

LadyOfTheCanyon · 12/12/2018 09:02

Mine took a good ten days to get going, but then I wasn't soaking them every day.
You could try Pickles ointment ( Amazon; about a fiver) which does much the same thing but you use it just in the hard skin.

AllTheCakes · 12/12/2018 09:12

Once the Footner has done it’s thing, you can use Flexitol to keep your feet smooth. It stops the skin becoming hard again if you use it a few times a week.

Fairenuff · 12/12/2018 10:38

Give it time. You are being too impatient. You are in for a treat. Just let it do it's magic.

Amazonian27 · 15/12/2018 19:12

Oh my word day 6 and my feet are like a snake shedding its skin just as well it’s winter and my feet are hidden under socks and boots. I don’t know if my feet will ever be described as baby soft but seeing the sheets of skin coming off was very pleasing.

Haha it's amazing isn't it. I can't wait to do mine, just waiting for the right opportunity because, as you say, need to keep them hidden whilst they shed.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 16/12/2018 14:01

During my last professional pedicure - mid summer - the pedicurist commented on the lack of hard skin on my feet. I'm putting it down to a 20 minute bath every day. I realise not everyone has the luxury of time for that.

When I only had a shower and was on my feet all day my then pedicurist (every six weeks or so) would allow an extra half hour to work on my poor feet. She was so kind.

Amazonian27 · 16/12/2018 16:52

Yes soaking them is probably beneficial in general and speeds up the Footner process.
