Having a Botox eyebrow lift soon!

Aaargh! Excited and nervous. I have very heavy, hooded eyelids which feel uncomfortable and make me look grumpy. I’m in my late 30s and this will be my first experience of botox! Also having a little on my crows feet.

Nervous and excited!

Anyone else had this?

CarpetDiem- Just to add that the initial consultation should be with the person that prescribes it, rather than just the person that is going to administer it. Prescriptions shouldn't be given out without the prescriber seeing their patient. Be wary of nurses that can't prescribe yet get a prescription off somebody who hands them out willy nilly. Also check that they have proper insurance. Any nurse worth their salt would be happy to give you their NMC PIN number and let you look them up on the NMC website to show their registration or show you current insurance paperwork (the RCN coverage does not cover aesthetics practice).

I started having Botox age 30 (but I would say I was quite prematurely wrinkly!) it’s great - go for it.

shesabloodywitch · 09/12/2018 07:31

I've had it done it definitely makes a difference but it's not as dramatic as in the picture and tbh I could still probably do with surgery (although the doctor says it's not bad enough to operate on yet) still it's made me feel and look better than before

PeevedOfPortishead · 11/12/2018 07:01

I've had this done and it worked as well as the picture. Whilst I had no lines above my eyebrows everything had just sort of "sunk". By dinner-time I looked as though I'd been awake for days... and I was having to use "make-up tricks" to give the illusion of a higher crease so that they looked less hooded.

Anyway, I got injections in the 11s to lift there and also at the other end of my brow I think - honestly, I was so anxious that I would be the unlucky bugger to get "droop" I wasn't paying that much attention.

It all kicked in within 3-7 days and the change is remarkable. I see it every time I look in the mirror - but nobody else has noticed. I see an enormous difference in the evening when I still look fresh - and I can actually wear eyeliner now and it's on the rims of my eyes rather than looking like eye-shadow if that makes sense to those of you with hooded eyes. I now have a defined lid + crease.

I've kept my crows feet because I am in my mid-40s and wanted to look normal... just less tired!

Love it and we are so lucky that these options are available to us - because as others have alluded to, in the past these sort of fixes would only have been available with surgery.

Before pic: taken in the morning, after pic: taken around 9pm 2 weeks later - yes I was bloody tired, but I still think better.

I had hooded eyes and had Botox to try to lift them......it didn’t work. In the end I had to have eyelid surgery to get rid of my hooded eyes.

And a few weeks after. I must add that my eyes are particularly tired today, after lack of sleep!!

Wow that looks good! Especially from side on.
Are you happy with it?

Jacksback · 30/12/2018 21:16

Watching please post before and after pictures

Surprised it’s being recommended if you have heavy lids. I’ve heard it can exacerbate them. Do you really want to go down this route? An acquaintance has had Botox several times and, despite her being many years younger than me, looks older and haggard (though a heavy alcohol intake may play a part too).

jinglewithbellson · 30/12/2018 21:42

Thank you for posting this thread op and pics.
I'm nearly 40 and in the last few months really noticed Hooded eyes and looking v tired by the afternoon.

No amount of highlighter in other places or make up tricks or fake lashes are helping.

I went for a consult for Botox a few years ago with someone highly recommended who works privately and non private and has done for years.
I've seen her work regularly as a few of my colleagues and friends use her

At the time she really felt it wasn't time for me to have any and I went with her opinion however I've now come to the tine where I feel I need to explore it as an option again and your pics and others here have spurred me on.

@Blossom4538 Oh nice! Looks great and definite improvement! You must be chuffed?!

LostInShoebiz · 30/12/2018 22:21

Fantastic result!

Blossom4538 · 31/12/2018 00:09

Thank you! Not a huge difference but I guess I look “fresher” around the eyes and can see a lift from the side/reduction in crows feet. The Dr who administers doesn’t like to go ott and feels less is more!

Eyelids don’t feel as heavy either.

did it lift your brow OP? I am considering this.

Blossom4538 · 01/01/2019 18:55

Perhaps a little! The Dr said up to 3mm is possible. But would simply give a nice fresh look. I’m wondering if it builds up a little so will show more next time. Or that’s what I’ve heard.

After your thread op I've decided to book up for next week for a consultation Grin
