Olaplex! Once a week, it's fab.

Winlinbin · 06/12/2018 17:24

Phillip Kingsley Elasticizer. Pricey but worth it.

Avoid high street shampoos and conditioners- they have a lot of sulphites and silicone in which although make the hair feel soft isn't very good for hair.
Wella are brilliant products, a little pricey but I think they're worth it.
I then use heat defence, Aussie leave in conditioner and wella hair moose and I find my hair feel looovelyGrin

Do a final rinse in cold water, then wrap your hair in a towel for 30 mins or so before drying it - it seems to make mine shinier

MoltonSilver · 06/12/2018 18:09

All of the above and don't use permanent hair colours.

Pinkyyy · 06/12/2018 18:11

Johnson's baby leave in spray conditioner is genuinely the best product I've ever used for making my hair soft and shiny

Add a colour gloss/toner once a month that is a deep conditioner with a bit of coloir. I add Olaplex 1 to the mix and use Olaplex 2 after.

Deep condition each week- Olaplex 3 one week and castor oil soak the next. Olaplex stays on overnight and castor oil for 3 hours.

Wash hair every 2-3 days. I used to wash it every 1-2 days, but as it gets longer that is changing. Soon it’ll be every 3-4 days.

I pop conditioner on the lengths both before and after washing. Use a different conditioner for before and after washing. I use a moisturising shampoo (these usually look cloudy due to added glycerine/aloe vera).

Only use sulphate and silicone free products.

Use a spray on, leave-in conditioner with hyularonic acid in it whilst hair is wet, then I seal the ends with a few drops of jojoba oil.

Usually I let my hair air dry. I have towel hair wraps that can be left on for an hour or two (or when using treatments) that are gentler on the roots of the hair and so I don’t need to towel dry. When I blow dry it (maybe once or twice a month) I use cool shot all the way through to prevent heat damage- I have a Babylon’s EQ as this has a cool switch that clicks on and stays on rather than a button that needs to be held down.

I was told by a hairdresser my hair was in 'too good' condition. I don't dye it, I don't use a hair dryer on it, I don't use product on it.

I now swim regularly which has affected the condition. The chlorine in the water coats the follicles, and makes the hair shiny and sticky, but washing every so often with fairy liquid solves that.

GreenyBlueEyes · 07/12/2018 11:39

Random one but wash your hair in fairy liquid once a fortnight. Discovered this by accident when I ran out of shampoo once and it seems to get rid of build up and other crap and leaves it shiny and full.

CountFosco · 07/12/2018 17:11

If you use fairy liquid then be aware that it is not pH balanced the way shampoos normally are and it will be very painful and potentially cause damage if you get it in your eyes. If you do get it in your eyes rinse and rinse and rinse.

Narya · 07/12/2018 17:14

I use any old shampoo but then silicone-free conditioner ( I use Tresemme perfectly undone). I also don't blow dry or straighten my hair.

MerryCatmas · 07/12/2018 17:28

For glossy hair that swishes
And feels soft as your face
It’s mild , green fairy liquid*
*but careful it don’t blind you now

Garnier ultimate blends oil. Use it on really damp hair, also cuts drying time which good for condition

Frequency · 07/12/2018 22:53

Coconut oil. I soak my hair in it when it starts feeling frazzled at the ends and leave it on overnight. The effects last around a week despite constant heat styling and colouring.

user1457017537 · 07/12/2018 22:56

Re fairy liquid as shampoo Head and Shoulders or Vosene also clean the hair of product build up.

TheWombat · 07/12/2018 23:02

For me it’s weekly olaplex, joico intense hydrator deep conditioner and liquid reconstructor protein spray when my hair is damp. I can’t use enough deep conditioner - my hair really responds well to using great handfuls of it every time I wash. I do rinse it out properly though! Tempted to try one of those microwaveable hair bonnets to supercharge it all..
Heavy silicones like frizz ease just seem to dehydrate my hair in the long run.
