Fed up with my awful skin

So, i eat a healthy diet, drink lots of water, follow a strict cleanse, tone and moisturise routine but my skin is awful. I am 46 with very sensitive skin that is red and blotchy most of the time. I also love to run and cycle which in winter really doesn't help and my skin gets very dry, but if I overdo the moisturiser I break out in spots.

I have wasted a small fortune on all sorts of creams, serums and the like. Currently have a full bottle of Pixi Tonic on my dresser which I should have realised would be too harsh.

What would you suggest? I know there probably is no miracle solution but as I get older it gets worse and I am very self conscious about it.

They switch from the simple face wash to a gentle massage with a few drops of sunflower oil and wash off with a warm face cloth.

I bet after 3 days your skin will be happier.

Simple Moisurising Facewash is not good for Rosacea.

Ask your GP for Rozex.

Strongly agree with the advice to see a GP if it might be rosacea. I’ve had it for a couple of years, have tried at times to manage it myself through diet and skincare with virtually no success. Antibiotics help but I don’t like to take them long term. I’m using soolantra now too and although it’s early days, I’ve definitely seen a big improvement.

For rosacea skincare, super gentle is what you need. (Clinique is usually not great for sentive skin, though I’ve not tried that particular product). I get most of my skincare from Beauty Pie now, they have quite a few products for sensitive skin which seem to work well for me. I also had a make up lesson which really helped me with hiding the red patches - green concealer and a good foundation make a huge difference day to day. The make up artist also told me that decent foundation is good for rosacea skin because a barrier between the skin and the atmosphere can help protect it from sun, pollution etc - unlike many other skin conditions which make up can make worse.

Hope you get it sorted - it’s horrible when you can’t get your skin under control.
