Lactic acid for KP on DS9's face

My DS is getting KP on his cheeks. I feel like this is the start of teenage skin problems (DH had bad skin as a teenager). Can I use lactic acid on him? Was thinking of diluting The Ordinary 5% by half again..

Has anyone had good results for KP with Lactic Acid, is it too harsh for young skin, does anyone have a better idea??

I still have this and finally found an excellent video on it by dr dray. I'd definitely watch it. I really struggled throughout my teens with it and still on and off to this day. She has excellent advice. From my experience it's hormonal (goes in pregnancy) and also related to getting too hot and dry.

Fwiw I tried an eucerin night cream with lactic acid and urea, both of which are good and I found it lovely. Possibly tingly at first; maybe try alternate nights? My post pregnancy 40s skin is very dry though so I'm also using aveeno. I've just also tried cerave cream which my skin seems to like. I think it's best using the eucerin a few times a week for me personally.

I'd recommend being very gentle- I used to itch my face and try to scrub it - don't! It can cause broken veins easily. Simple cream cleanser has been very good in the past.

A gp prescribed salicylic acid for my arms and legs too once (I get it badly there); that's the other thing worth trying. Praps not face? I believe avene do a range especially for kp I've not yet tried. I must say I personally find the aveeno very nice especially on arms and face at night.

It ruined my attempts to be an ashen goth!

Obviously ds won't get pregnant though! But it might be in relation to hormones is what I mean.

I had this on my face as a teenager and got a prescription for salicylic acid in emollient from GP after seeing a dermatologist. I think I got 5% for body and milder 1% (I can't remember) for face. But the problem was the baseline stuff it was in was too greasy on my face. Maybe there are better formulations now.

I had better results using a facecream specifically containing salicylic acid (the one I used was olay but this was years ago)

I still have on my arms. People say eucerin works but I haven't found so

I also saw a tv prog that said paying attention omega 3 in diet helps and I do find when I cba to take it it helps a lot

I had good results on my arms using Nip + Fab Glycolic pads. Not sure if they are suitable for children though. Have a look on the Skin Nerd website. She has some advice there that definitely mentions children
