Has anyone here used Lush Henna before?

Was it easy to use? Were you happy with the results?

Thinking of using as I can't use salon dyes anymore.

You can get much better quality henna for a cheaper price. I mix mine with cassia to get a strawberry blonde colour.

I use it and find it good, although I agree with pp there are cheaper options if you are happy with just a natural henna colour, or prepared to mix your henna yourself with, e.g. indigo, for a browner finish (Lush comes in several shades from bright red to brown).

One advantage of Lush Henna is that you can mix and use it straight away and get a good colour, whereas organic powdered henna has to be left for a few hours (ideally overnight) to get a rich colour.

... re. ease of use, it's no different from other henna. It can be messy - the trick is to get the consistency right so it's wet enough to stain your hair but not so wet it drips everywhere. It's messier and takes longer than a box dye, but it's worth it because it conditions your hair rather than damaging it.

I love it and have used it lots but when I was more confident I switched to henna and indigo mixed myself. I find the powdered henna easier to use as it doesn’t need to be powdered/grated (I used my blender for lush henna but it protests a bit as the blocks are hard!!) and lush henna has coffee grounds in it that are hard to wash out (the Marron and brun do anyway). The results with the lush henna are good though and it’s nice to have a premixed version for first trying henna.

You don't need to grate Lush Henna. It will melt by itself if you pour hot water onto it then heat it in a bain marie.

I use it. I love the finish I get with it but it is messy and time consuming. Can anyone recommend cheaper alternatives?

Following with interest! I have a block of the Caca Marron in my bathroom, just waiting til I have enough free time to use it!
