Dressing big boobs

Went out last night and thought I looked ok. Wearing this and black jeans.

Saw photos today and I look awful. My boobs (38dd) look massive in photos. I have a good, fitted bra on so they're not droopy just huge looking.

I'm determined to lose weight but do you have tips for dressing big boobs? Is fitted better??

I’m a 32K (previously a 40k before I lost nearly 6 stone). My daughter insisted I learn how to do a small tuck. It transformed everything. Jumpers, shirts, tees, everything gets tucked. Try it and be amazed.

I'm a 34G. I wear an uplifting bra then generally stick to tops that have v necks or similar not high necks.

I bought this in Wallis it shows them off without revealing too much & skims my stomach.

Also this from Wallis

Billowing, shiny and light coloured top will make anything look twice as big. 38DD is really not that huge, so it's definitely the top, not you.

I personally don't like to wear skin-tight, as boobs also get the 'here's my chest, the rest is coming' look. But semi-fitted is good. V and cowl necks are flattering. Stronger materials (like ponte), not clingy thin jersey.

I lost two stone recently (11.5 stone to 9.5) and not one millimetre off my 30ff's! If anything they look even bigger because the rest of me is smaller. I have gone from a big 12 to a 10, except my boobs still need a size 12.

I quite like Phase Eight tops like this one which come in at the hips and don't just fall from a shelf-like bosom.

I second bravissimo. At a size 16 I wear a 32/34 back

Another vote for the Phase Eight Becca tops. They shouldn't work for big boobs because they have high necks but they drape really well. I have about ten in different colours and fabrics - the basic shape is always the same but they do lighter/ heavier weights depending on season.
To break up the line I usually put on a long necklace.

WipsGlitter · 03/12/2018 17:30

I actually have two of those phase eight tops!

Shows how different we all are. I am size 16 and bravissimo measure me as 38FF. I have a wide ribcage and tucked in shirts make me look huge up top.

Artus · 03/12/2018 17:59

I take a 12 in trousers. I hate my chest.

Ichbinstoltz · 03/12/2018 18:06

The thing is fully tucked in tops make a pencil look like a beach ball, it's the tuck just at the button of your trousers that give your top a bit of shape. The Phase Eight Becca tops do that be the fact that they re loose but have a tight-ish band at the bottom so you can place the top on your hips or higher and have your top nicely draped around your ample bosom. They also do several Becca dresses as well as tops which makes me think there are a lot of people who find the fit flattering and comfortable.

Needanewgilet · 03/12/2018 18:20

The Becca tops make me look gigantic because I have big shoulders as well as big boobs. Batwing or kimono sleeves are dreadful on me for that reason.

I struggle with Bravissimo too. Their clothes were good pre kids when o still had a flat, toned stomach as they’re often clingy around the waist/stomach with extra room for boobs, but now I need clothes that skim over my stomach but still go in at the waist or my flab shows.

LaurieLarx · 03/12/2018 19:11

I'm top-heavy with slim hips and legs. Fitted and wrapover styles of the kind favoured by Pepperberry just look matronly on me. So while 'big' tops aren't brilliant, I tend to prefer them - and if you try on loads, you can find the odd one that doesn't flap out over the rest of your body. Most flattering shapes for me are empire line or drapes. Try finding them though! I have one Sad White Stuff dress with a knot at the bust that's perfect. Print rather than block colour works well too.

WipsGlitter · 03/12/2018 19:23

Empire line looks dreadful on me. I tried it on again with a half tuck and a full tuck. Half kind of looks like a mistake, a bit I've got my dress in my knickers! Full tuck looked ok-ish.

I did try the top on in the black too but I thought the white lifted my complexion! Swings and roundabouts.
