Please help me use my skincare!

After an exhausting year I am determined to instil some self-care over the Christmas season, starting with actually using some of the lovely skincare languishing in my bathroom cupboard. Much of it has been bought as a direct result of being an S&B sheep, but I have very little idea of what I should be using, and when - can any wiser S&Bers help, please?

I have got:

Mini Eve Lom cleansing balm

The Ordinary - Retinol 5% (never used retinol), Salycilic acid 5%, Niacimide

Biore watery essence

Liquid gold

Sarah Chapman skinesis overnight facial

I am 38 with some fine lines, occasional spots and occasional shine, but otherwise no skin problems - would just like to restore a bit of a glow! Can anyone advise on when/what order to use the above, and whether there’s anything missing from my regime?

Thanks in advance Flowers

Using what you have you could:

AM
Possibly need a morning cleanser although some people just rinse with water
Niacinamide
Biore watery essence

PM
Eve Lom Cleanser
Liquid gold (once a week to start with building up to 2/3 times a week(
Overnight facial

You would use the retinol where you have the liquid gold. I’ve not used that particular one but if I were you I’d keep LG to once a week and build up the retinol gradually until you can use it every night.

Meant to say use the niacinamide under the retinol in the pm as it helps tolerance

You need to get a moisturiser- I can't see one on this list. Go very sparingly with the acids. 5% retinol seems quite sting for a first time user. If you don't have spots or congestion then the salicylic acid won't really do much too.

Thank you!

So, I have too many acids and need to go easy/alternate? It should be either LG or retinol? That makes sense - in the past I I have just slapped these on at random and my skin didn’t look the better for it!

Can anyone recommend a good morning cleanser and a moisturiser? I don’t mind spending if it’s worth it, though I have only recently had spare cash so am a bit uncomfortable with prices like the Eve Lom (though it’s lovely), would prefer something mid-range.
