How do you do your makeup this time of year when the light is so bad?

Like a lot of people I leave the house early and get home lateish so I’m never able to do my face in natural light and I hate it. I’ve got a No7 makeup mirror but it’s not brilliant and I feel self conscious a lot of the time that I’ve got streaks/caking/a massive chin hair or whatever because I’ve had to get ready like a bloody mole 🙄

I've got a simplehuman sensor mirror - expensive but I think worth it (I've had it about two years now). They do a variety of sizes and magnifications.

I have a Simplehuman mirror too and think its excellent. Its charged using a USB so easy to move to wherever you want to apply your makeup. The sensor lights only come on when your face is near and the light is really bright enough to see everything. It is a shock when you first see yourself, lines and blemishes you have never noticed before, but it does mean your application will be much better.

No more streaks or massive chin hair.

I brought my daughter this mirror and she loves it.
A cheaper option?

I used to put a blue light bulb (daylight bulb) in an angle poise lamp near where I do my make up. Small children so I often end up doing it in the kitchen now Grin

I came on to say the Simplehuman mirrors. I haven't actually got one myself, I've just spent a lot of time admiring my reflection in them in John Lewis (the light is super flattering) and thinking how useful they would be when you have to get up in the dark - which could be as late as 8am in the winter Sad!
I would love one!

I use a craft day lamp which is much cheaper than the SH one. I have had two sh mirrors and both times the sensor light drove me mad. I wish there was a simple switch

I've just been on the Aldi website, and they've got illuminated mirrors for sale starting on the 6th Dec.

This is a bug bear of mine. I leave in the dark and am often throwing makeup on in a steamed up bathroom mirror. I have the been veggie of not having things to look on the mirror for the rest of the day but I'm sure there are problems with my application!

Ooh thanks nickyschof !

I've just bought this mirror, it has 10x magnification and lighting that is supposed to mimic daylight.

It is the BEST thing I have bought in ages. I have pretty bad eyesight and don't wear contacts, so putting on eyeliner has been nigh on impossible. This mirror means I can actually SEE what I ma doing and OMG it's made such a difference!

Not too pricey either.
