Hi,
I LOVE my Fitflops, which are one of the few things (along with full sheepskin boots or sliipers, or Crocs/ Coolers type beach/ garden clogs) that my knackered chemo-neuropathy feet can bear to wear.
My Fitflops (lucky £3 find in a charity shop!) also seem to help my back, which goes into spasm at the drop of a hat since having boob-recon surgery 11 or so years ago, when they used muscle from my back to make the new boob. Back doesn’t like that at all.
Anyway.
No luck so far in finding a good pair of Fitflop boots - I don’t agree that Fitflops are fugly, but I’m not keen on the suede or even leather sole-edges they v often have, just from a practical viewpoint. I’ve seen so many on eBay where those sides have been damaged, crinkled up, scraped, etc.
Was wondering if anyone can advise me on the following makes?
El Natura Lista
Camper
Primigi
Or any others that you have experienced as being really squidgy-soled and comfy.
I have an ancient pair of black leather below-knee-high Ecco’s, but they really aren’t that comfy. I dug all my old boots out yesterday, and my Ecco’s weren’t as squishy in the sole as an unbranded (but good black leather) shorter pair that didn’t look as if they would be that comfy. They confusingly say Size 5/ 39 (39 is a 6, isn’t it?) and “Ittihad”on the soles. The only Ittihad I can find online is a place in Pakistan, not a brand of footwear.....
I’ve just bought a pair of sz 5 knee-length suede Skechers for £7.79 inc post on Preloved (yay!), hoping they won’t be the sloppy boats that a pair of sz 6 Skecher Work Ups (?) boots were last year on me. Skechers must be a HUGE fit, because my Fat Fives usually need a six in boots, and those just fell off me, even with big thick socks :/
Ideally, I prefer those shaped and sculpted soles, or those with wrap around heels and/ toes (my driving kills toes and heels on unprotected footwear). That extra bit of sole at the back /front really does protect them from rubs.
I was trying to find a half-slinky pair of leather knee-length boots so that I could wear them with shortish skirts, but at this stage, I’d probably settle for even short ankle boots!
I’m just getting thoroughly confused by all the different brand names out there and need to check with people who know about these boot brands and their comfort better than I do.
It isn’t just the foot comfort aspect for me, it’s also about trying to help my back not go into frequent spasm with movement. My Fitflops really do seem to help that, but as I’m not keen on frostbite, I really really need some wram, comfortable, squishy/ squidy-soled boots asap :)
Advise, please, lovely ladies 😊
Thanks! X
