Help! Need a complete makeover, where do you start?!

Really do not know where to start, constantly got sore throats, cold and aches, over weight, look awful. Need a total makeover from head to toe, physically and emotionally I think.

I started anti depressants a couple of months ago and they have helped, I just feel so over whelmed with how much I've left myself go!

Where to start, healthy eating regime, hair cut? I constantly feel below par.

I have 2 dc, 6 and 2, 2 year old is still up a couple of times per week during the night, or I'm listening our for her, so sleep deprivation is definitely a factor.

How do I start to feel in better shape?

With a decent haircut at the best hairdresser you can afford and a walk every day with your push chair. The hair you wear all the time, and the fresh air and exercise will improve your health and fitness. Then something else... baby steps.

I’m so glad you’re beginning to feel better! I’ve been through the mill recently and feel like I’ve been doing a lot of self care things you might like to consider.

Do you take a multi vitamin? If your vitamin d is low it can make you feel rubbish. Same for low iron. I take the stance that my body will take whatever it needs and I’ll pee out what it doesn’t! I take a cheap hair and nails one from the supermarket.

Can you get a massage? I felt physically sore with the emotional burden I was carrying and had a massage every week (at a cheap local place so not very expensive but really effective) for a month or two. It felt really indulgent but was a great way for me to take care of myself.

Excellent suggestion from pp about hair cut and walking - fresh air and gentle exercise will do wonders.

I always feel better if I’ve got a bit of make up on. I don’t do anything complicated - just BB cream and mascara but it makes me feel better then I take it off at night with a cleanser you use a muslin cloth with. Cheapie Olay night cream and again, not expensive, and not time consuming but it’s good self care.

Thanks. Hair appointment has been booked! It's a start at least. Yes to make up, I always feel better when I've made a bit of an effort. Its energy levels; I have wondered about vitamin D. I actually have supplements I've bought but not religiously taken. Will have to start.

Well done. Please tell us little progress steps. Magnesium supplements apparently help the body use Vit D better and help you sleep better. Fresh raw veg and fruit regularly and linseeds, to keep you regular. Poohing properly is very important/cleansing (for me at least Blush).

Agree with all of the above but also adding... try drinking green tea. I drink about 3 cups a day and rarely get colds. I used to get them all the time but they don't seem to affect me now.

Drink water regularly throughout the day.

Eat fruit and vegetables every day.

Get a haircut.

Get a simple skincare regime to keep your skin clean and moisturised. They don't need to be expensive products, they just need to work for your skin.

Wear clothes that make you feel happy.

As it's now winter, get a good coat that fits you well and is in a flattering colour and style. Lots of coats are reduced now as people bought them in autumn and shops are clearing space for Christmas stuff. This time of year, more people see you in your coat that anything else, so make sure it's a good one.

Ditto winter boots, if you can afford them. Otherwise just make sure your shoes are polished and heels mended.

I'm trying these at the moment: www.misfitcosmetics.com/collections/featured/products/ultimate-foot-detox-pads

It might be rubbish but a lot of good reviews and after first night I have been less sluggish and my mouth felt fresher when I woke up if that makes any sense. Lots of people saying they've slept better, found losing weight easier etc. I thought worth a go Smile
