If you style your frizzy/curly hair straight every day...

Please talk to me about your hair care routine!

I've got naturally curly hair and have tried Curly Girl and the whole natural curls shebang with mostly crap results - my curls are very straggly as I have fine hair unless it's very short. I want my hair longer, so am committed to blow drying and straightening pretty much every day.

I use John Frieda frizz ease products (shampoo, conditioner, styling cream before blow dry and a different one after blow drying). I shampoo every 2-3 days and use a bit of conditioner on the other days. My hair dries out at the ends but I get a regular-ish cut.

What do you use that gives good results? And how often do you wash/apply products?

I have curly hair. I go through phases of blow drying every day. When I do I try to leave it as long as possible between washes and use as little product as possible.

I do like elasticizer though and regularly use that when I'm blow drying. I also use dry shampoo on the last day (usually day 3 or 4).

I also still try and use CG friendly products. And I use a lot of conditioner.

Dreamcoat - it's miraculous!

here

@faustina Wow, looks too good to be true! Do you apply anything else after styling? How long would a bottle last? (On shoulder length hair)

@TwoGinScentedTears
Thanks! I thought elasticiser was for co-washing? Or do you apply to damp hair before you blow dry?

Keratin blow dry - expensive but life changing

TwoGinScentedTears · 28/11/2018 06:57

I put it in before shampooing and put a showercap on. I leave it for as long as possible before shampooing and conditioning as normal. Makes a huge difference!

Dyson volume and curl set

Best thing ever. I can either dry it straight with the straight brush or volumise with the brush that looks like the babyliss big hair brush. Mines is naturally wavy so I also use the 'tong' (nothing like a tong) to put even, regulated curls in.

I can go from wet hair to salon blow dry in10 minutes. Cant believe how much time it's saving me.

I have decent styling tools - a Dyson hairdryer and cloud nine straighteners. Wash twice a week, but have to straighten every day. The tools really do make a difference to the job and results.

faustina · 28/11/2018 07:04

No, nothing else - honestly it is amazing. The bottle lasts ages - months and months. I am on my second bottle and bought it sometime in the spring I think. It only works with heat, so you have to blow dry your hair and/or straighten it with tongs. I used to use Morroccan oil but the dream coat is miles better

MargotMoon · 28/11/2018 19:58

Definitely going to give Dreamcoat a try!

Think both the Dysons look awesome but might be out of my price range! Although my hairdryer is ancient... Can anyone recommend a hairdryer which won't break the bank?

Hope you get on with it!

Delatron · 28/11/2018 20:48

Ooh I need that dreamcoat stuff. The humidity and rain at the moment is messing my hair up so much. Blow dry straight, do the school run and it’s a frizzy curly mess again!

Grace212 · 29/11/2018 08:36

not heard of Dreamcoat, pricey.

I think I have heard of a similar product that's cheaper - can anyone think what it might be? Also something you have to activate with heat?
