Retinol? Vitamin C?

Being new to all this malarkey, are retinol and vitamin c serums something I’m supposed to use??
I’m 51, not got wrinkles, one frown linenear my left eyebrow, some noticeable pores around my nose and few on my cheeks, get the odd blackhead. I do have a two age/sunspots which cover with makeup easily but I don’t wear it on a daily basis. A lot of the new skincare products have passed me by, I’d not tried anything like the Alpha-H liquid gold until I got it in the M&S beauty calendar Blush
I currently use botanics hot cloth cleansing balm, M&S day cream and their ultimate sleep cream. Twice a week I use M&S radiance reveale peel, last two items I started using after they came in last years calendar too and I bought more. This time of year I tend to look if I need perking up, which is why I’m wondering if these serums are the way forward but unfortunately I’m a bit clueless. Any advice would be much appreciated Smile

You lucky duck! You sound like you already have lovely skin and a good regime that suits you.
I would say if anything, add a booster, where you just add a few drops to your current face cream.
These are all good. The first Peptide one targets multiple areas and would probably be ideal:

Retinol at night; vitamin C and and SPF in the morning.

I'd recommend retinol, it is really the gold standard for anti-ageing.

Start with something like LRP redermic / indeed labs one and try and gradually move up to something like Paula's choice 1%. Each time you finish a tube, move up in concentration.

A vitamin c in the morning would be good. Have you tried Clinique fresh pressed vit c?

But MOST IMPORTANTLY !! Are you wearing sunscreen every day? Don't do any of this if you are not, as you will really damage your skin.

Thanks everyone. Other than if it’s really sunn, ive never used a separate spf, there’s some in the moisturiser Blush
I’m quite an outdoor person, lots of time in the garden. I’ll have a look at the recommendations and for an spf too Smile

Definitely a separate spf (the ones in moisturisers aren’t enough) and use it all year round.
