My hair appears to be falling out...Nutrihair anyone?

Has anyone tried Nutrihair and have any feedback on it, whether it helps thinning, rubbish hair or doesn't?

I have started taking it having read a few reviews online, but would be great to hear from any MNetters who have used it.

I am going to the Dr's next week for a blood test too as I am feeling very tired and run down generally.

When I was severely anaemia my hair fell out.
I know my iron is getting low as I feel tired and my floor gets covered in hair.
I’d make some dietary changes while you are waiting for your appointment. For me steak drizzled in lemon juice for the vit c helps!

I'm not much of a red meat eater unfortunately, in fact I eat more or less a vegetarian diet, I do eat fish from time to time.

I do eat fairly healthily but maybe it's just not enough iron. Last time I had bloods done I was told everything was fine - no anaemia, thyroid issues or hormone problems, but I'm not convinced as I feel crap and m hair is getting so thin Sad

I think black strap molasses is high in iron.

I have had good results taking a biotin supplement (Amazon has lots, very cheap). Less shedding and faster growth.

Having said that it does sound like you could do with a general health/nutrition check just in case.

Thanks..I'm having a blood test tomorrow as am sure there is an underlying problem, but good to hear folks tips.

Could be a thyroid problem, but when mine started thinning my test was normal, i am taking high dose Biotin, and using Watermans shampoo with Biotin and other vitamins etc, you can buy a shampoo and spray for hair growth called Roots from Superdrug or Boots, using this too, but not noticed any difference
The strange thing is though, i never see any hair fall or on comb at least no more than normal
Someone on here has mentioned Nutrihair, but not sure how many threads back, you could check

You can have low iron without being anemic. Ferritin (iron stores) can be low without haemoglobin being low. And that can make you feel rubbish, hair falling out etc.

Thanks..yes. My periods are so heavy now post-kids..think I am definitely heading into peri-meno territory.

Viviscal is meant to be really good, but it is pricey x

L-Tyrosine tablets, and Zinc tablets worked for me - just took fir a couple months. Both from Holland and Barrett. I also use Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. Better than the usual corrosive shampoos

Could easily be thyroid - be aware that this is very under diagnosed in the Uk and take a look at the thyroid uk website.

Many people are told incorrectly by the GP that their blood tests are fine when they actually do have a thyroid problem.

HRT could also help.

DavetheCat2001 · 26/11/2018 14:54

Thanks..went for my blood tests earlier so will bear in mind what you have said when I go in on Thursday to speak to the Dr about the results.

I'm sure something isn't right as I walk around like a zombie half the time!

Thyroid results can vary apparently, my Dr told me, you could have a test one week and it be ok and the next time not be right, it can vary up and down
I still think i have a thyroid problem as i have put quite a bit of weight on, unusual for me, and keep falling asleep when i sit down

I've just trawled this board, looking for a solution to this exact question. Going to try the Biotin supplements but also just wondered if you've had your blood test results OP ?

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 27/11/2018 19:35

Sorry...just seen its Thursday

DavetheCat2001 · 27/11/2018 19:40

Take a look at the thyroid symptoms list and see if they fit how you feel.

Do Ask your GP for a printout if the actual thyroid blood result as the threshold for what would usually be treated in the uk is much more conservative than for many other countries. If you are only just in range in the uk but fit the symptoms then don't assume everything is ok.
