Would you wear this to a wedding?

Help! I’m going to a wedding soon and love this dress but not sure if it’s appropriate to wear to a wedding.

The wedding is going to be at a 5 star hotel, so quite a formal setting. However, the guests are fairly young (early 30s) and have a relaxed style (usually).

I thought a black blazer could smarten it up.

Thoughts please! Thanks

Yes it's lovely!

HundredMilesAnHour · 22/11/2018 18:09

Oh dear, not a fan, sorry. I think a blazer will just make it look even more shapeless/frumpy rather than smart.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 22/11/2018 18:18

No - I wouldn't wear that to the type of wedding you've described. Perfect for a beach wedding abroad but not the type you're describing.
Sorry.

This on the other hand I would wear:

Carpetglasssofa · 22/11/2018 18:20

No. Too casual and summery.

Sausagefingers9 · 22/11/2018 18:20

No, it’s far too casual and doesn’t look flattering

Lauren83 · 22/11/2018 18:42

I don't think it's suitable, looks too casual with the fabric and fit, I do like the dress though

SundayGirls · 22/11/2018 18:54

No, I wouldn't. Leopard print says party not wedding, it's not formal enough (unless as a touch on shoes/bag/trim), and the style is a summer style. It's too casual for a wedding even with a black blazer. It'd be perfect for summer BBQ or holiday or drinks or something but it's not smart enough for a wedding guest IMHO especially at a 5* hotel even if the bride & groom/other guests are in their 30s and trendy.

Cherries101 · 22/11/2018 18:56

Not appropriate considering the venue

Sitranced · 22/11/2018 18:58

At a beach or festival wedding maybe but not a formal hotel venue.

puddlesplashing · 22/11/2018 19:00

No

MrsGB2225 · 22/11/2018 19:01

Definitely not!

chickywoo · 22/11/2018 19:03

No way
Sorry Wink

Justmuddlingalong · 22/11/2018 19:03

Even young people who have a relaxed style would look totally underdressed in that. It's not appropriate for a formal wedding.

XiCi · 22/11/2018 20:41

I think it's far too informal (and not season appropriate) . I'd wear to a beach/bbq/garden party etc

Abeautifulpeagreenboat · 22/11/2018 20:42

No, definitely not.

WallisFrizz · 22/11/2018 20:44

I do like it but not for a wedding and definitely not a posh one.

Bigonesmallone3 · 22/11/2018 20:53

Nooo...

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 22/11/2018 20:57

Hell the no!

Springlove1 · 22/11/2018 21:14

Thanks, time to rethink!

No. No. No. It's just not right for a wedding unless it was a wedding in a hot country held on a beach.

Bluntness100 · 22/11/2018 21:22

No, and I think you know as you said you'd get a blazer to "smarten it up". It's definitely not a five star hotel formal wedding attire.

MrsJane · 22/11/2018 21:22

I'm usually pretty relaxed about wedding attire but this is a no no. Far too casual.

E20mom · 22/11/2018 21:27

Not to the type of wedding you've described.

verite · 23/11/2018 06:37

Agree with most. Beach wedding, not formal hotel wedding

Hellywelly10 · 23/11/2018 06:47

If you were an evening guest maybe?
