Teddy/borg coats HELP please

Wondering if anyone has advice on how to keep coat like the one pictured looking soft, full and fluffy?

I purchased mine about 6 weeks ago. It already looks awful: the faux (polyester) shearling is becoming dull, clumpy and doesn’t look soft and fluffy anymore. It also looks a bit stretched out, the arms have creases and the it looks baggy and old vs ‘oversized chic’!

I haven’t been wearing it a lot either - I have quite a few different coats that I cycle between so I wear this once a week at most. I did get caught in the rain in it though. It’s dry clean only so I have no idea how I can revive it!

You could test a hairbrush on a discreet area, see if that helps.
I know what you mean though, I bought and returned a coat like this recently because I could already see that it would look sad do misshapen very quickly.

Thank you. I’ll try brushing it when I get home! Smile @GhostCurry

I think you made a good decision returning it! Even on the picture I posted, you can see a crease from the model’s coat from the sleeve to collar - that’s exactly what the creases on my coat look like in a relaxed position. It genuinely looks awful.

I would take it back. You've not even had it 2 months. It seems like we're supposed to accept that clothes are disposable now 😡

@thedevilinablackdress i know! I was considering returning it but I have a feeling the staff might say it’s not faulty as it’s just a few creases (etc) and I cant be bothered with the faff

Going to try and use a brush and a steamer to try and revive it when I get home!

I think brushing it is a good call, you could also ask your dry cleaner for advice.

GhostCurry · 20/11/2018 21:06

thedevilinablackdress I agree and somehow holding this huge mass of faux fur - which is terrible for the environment - felt a bit too much! It had to go.
Good luck OP!

Hannnnnnnxo · 21/11/2018 18:28

Well my steamer has a brush attachment which worked pretty well, I finished it off with a brush for suede. It looks presentable again but I can tell it will inevitably crease and look shite again - I do regret buying it!

It’s like the faux fur is much too plentiful for the lining so it doesn’t hang properly and sagsAngry

I’m struggling with my conscience about these as well. I bought one from zara as I fell in love with it, but I’ve had it a week and haven’t worn it yet as I’m feeling bad about buying something that is in no way degradable (even though it may actually look crap after a few wears) and is also very much a fashion item so doesn’t have much style longevity.

ilovecherries · 21/11/2018 19:21

Sorry, op, that wasn’t what you were asking, I’m just ruminating...
