Is rose gold over?

It certainly seems like it's past its peak. (Was not convinced by the stage when all trendy bathroom and kitchen fittings were meant to be in this hue.) I'm contemplating putting a nice necklace on my Christmas list and was dabbling with the idea of rose gold. Will I make myself look a bit dated, or is there perennial appeal? If the latter, what colours does it look good with?

It’s not outdated. Yes, a few years ago it was trendy as it was new and refreshingly different from gold and silver. At this point, it’s just a standard colour. The hype has died down, but it isn’t out of season, it’s just a classic now. If I see rose gold anything, I wouldn’t be obsessed as I was a few years ago as it’s literally everywhere now, so I suppose it lacks the wow factor if that’s your concern (but so does gold/silver - it depends of the jewellery piece)

I think rose gold pairs well with both silver and gold jewellery (whereas gold and silver clash). Rose gold suits virtually all colours of clothing. Go for it if it suits your colouring (complexion, hair etc) more than gold/silver

I was in the Morrison's seasonal aisle yesterday. All their giftwrap is either white/silver or tartan this year. If Morrison's are over it...

I'm not keen on it personally, it smacks of Michael Kors watches.

Rose gold was quite popular in the 1920's too.

It just depends on if you like it and it suits you.

Good quality gold (higher than 18carat) seems to always have a rosy colour to it anyway.
