2 in 1 hair dryer/straightener brushes - any good?

I have long thick hair that takes a long time to air dry, and not the energy to take a hair dryer to it due to illness. I usually wash it early afternoon, put it in a towel turban for an hour or 2, let it loose for a bit, then plait it 3-4 hours after washing so it doesn't turn into a frizzy mess. It's still damp by bedtime though. I was wondering about one of these brushes to get the last of the dampness out before I plait it or before bed. Do they actually work? Any recommendations?
this is the one I've been looking at

Sadly in my experience they don’t work in the way you’re hoping. Your hair has to be about 80-90% dry already and then they might ‘finish’ it. But they don’t dry damp hair.

I’ve also got long, thick, straight hair. It’s a pain, but I have to air dry for about 45 mins-1 hour, upside down blast with dryer for a few minutes and then finish with a babyliss big hair (takes about 10 mins) to have anything approaching a style...

I have that one op. Have to say you need almost dry hair and then its ok but doesn't keep your hair styled on day 2 unlike straighteners. Bit of a waste of money tbh

I have a Babylis Big Hair (rotating brush on a dryer) . I bought it for DD who has long hair , she never got on with it.
I use the smaller barrel , my hair is collarlength.

If it rotates and my hair gets twisted right round it bloody hurts , I wouldn't trust it on long hair , but the bigger barrel would be too big for the amount of hair I have .
It does dry and straighten though , quicker than a regular dryer

I tested the BaByliss big hair (new version) a few weeks ago as part of a product test on here.
It was much better for me than the old one, less tugging on my hair and a better result. Used from 80% dry it left smoother hair with a bit of bounce.
I have thick, just below shoulder length hair.

Hmmm thanks all. Sounds like it's not the solution I was looking for Sad
