True/cool summer

Hello - this is another one of those 'colour analysis' threads... So look away now, those of you who don't believe in it!

I have just been diagnosed as a true summer (after several other diagnoses from House of Colour and Colour Me Beautiful - long boring story) and am looking for reasonably priced tops for work and to go with jeans at the weekend.

For what it's worth, I did really see the difference with the colours and feel happy with the verdict this time. It was 12 blueprints/Gabi for any colour-geeks out there. Spent the last 15 years thinking I was a 'bright spring' and feeling like a cbeebies presenter and a bit uncomfortable when I wore the 'right' (i.e. wrong) colours... Guess that's a big argument in favour of just wearing colours that make you feel comfortable and good about yourself!

Or any ideas for jewellery would be welcome, come to that! All my jewellery is gold.... (luckily engagement ring and eternity ring platinum!)

Any other true or cool summers about with any ideas?!

Any summers out there?? Could really do with a work dress (city 'business casual').

For any summers, Jigsaw seems good - lots of raspberry, greys and blues. (No dresses though!)

I am a deep summer so my best are the darkest of the summer shades.

I love my colours and really 'believe' as I am always told I look well when wearing my best colours. I do resort to navy a lot though.

What size are you and what price range are you looking at for the dress?

Analysed or draped. It's not a diagnosis!!!

Thanks Chewbacca - I'm a size 10, 5'5'' and generally buy work stuff from Whistles, M&S, Reiss for trousers (the cut fits my curvy bum!) and bits from Massimo Dutti. So i will spend anything from £45 - £120 on a work dress.

I know it's not a diagnosis - I was just being silly, sorry!

Yes - I think navy is a good bet - I was hoping for something more interesting but there's not much else in the shops right now. I think the colours around often match up to the actual season - so a lot of black and red in winter and most pastel cool shades in the summer.

Ah, you are very different in size to me, you can wear anything! Just the colours restricting you! Have you tried doing a search on the John Lewis site filtering by colour? I find it helpful as it means I can remove the black, brown, yellow, orange. It doesn't mean the remainder are 'my' colours but it really narrows down the field.

That is a great idea, thank you.

And John Lewis has good brands!

I believe!! I had an idea about my colours but had the House of Colour assessment and now people say wow!

I was in the Kettlewell site earlier and they have a bit about what kind of season you are. I'm a brown summer I think and look amazing in dark petrol blue but also eff off pink!

Hi all! Thanks for your ideas. Just FYI, I bought a few things from Jigsaw and Oliver Bonas (oddly - they have much nicer stuff than I remember and also lots of true/cool summer colours - plus loads more). Jigsaw is great for work (I work in the city in a semi-formal office) and Oliver Bonas for party stuff...

Brown summer? Hmm. Probably a 'soft summer' in the other system. Cool! (Or not - Soft!) Yes - looked at kettlewell but not quite right styles for work for me...
