REALLY comfortable shoes that don't look orthopaedic

I'm pregnant and looking for some really, really comfortable, work appropriate shoes (office based) that don't look like something I would be wearing if I had just had orthopaedic surgery. I've had some nice M&S Footglove ones before but i couldn't bring myself to buy anything in the current range 😬

Does anyone have any recommendations? I basically want my trainers, but smart!

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread, too.

I have had very nice comfortable Ecco ones, but they cost a fortune. I also bought the depressingly-named "comfort shoe" from Evans, and they weren't comfortable at all.

I have bastard feet and work in retail on my feet for 10 hours . I've got these and they have t rubbed or caused pain . When not at work I wear jigsaw Olivia because my feet can be so painful . Would recommend if you like the flat form fashion at the mo.

How casual can you go? I’ve just bought these.

rosettesforjill · 11/11/2018 20:07

Thanks everyone. @madnessIsay they're pretty hot on "business dress" - I may get a little leeway with being pregnant but I think those might be too far unfortunately!

Hush puppies do a range called soft style. They have a 2" heel which is extremely comfortable. The other brand is aertex. While soft style is £30-50, aertex is £65-100.

I just bought a pair of toms slip on shoes in grey and I love them.

So comfy and no wearing in and I have wide, size 9 feet.

Not cheap at £70 but you can get deals and offers and frankly am too old & fat for converse Blush

KeepCalm · 11/11/2018 20:35

Oh and lovely burgundy brogues from New Look - non pattern, just plain and excellent for meetings

OhioOhioOhio · 11/11/2018 20:36

Wide fit foot gloves from m and s are good.

TeaAndNoSympathy · 11/11/2018 20:39

Hotter is your friend. Some of the styles are horrendous BUT some others are perfectly OK and are very comfy indeed.

Spartacunt · 11/11/2018 20:49

Red or Dead brogues (from Schuh) are foot heaven and look great.

hettie · 11/11/2018 22:04

What's your budget? I normally hate fitflops (frumpy), but the petrina in black look ok www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/womens-new-arrivals-view-all-uk/petrina-leather-loafers-p-O24-001

alphaechokiwi · 11/11/2018 22:11

Vionic - pricey but amazingly comfortable. Try QVC for discounts.

Ceilingrose · 11/11/2018 22:17

Hotter brogues. Some m and s. Some Gabor. Occasionally LK Bennett.

professionalnomad · 12/11/2018 06:50

SOCOFY shoes are insanely comfortable and super quirky!

ChesterBelloc · 12/11/2018 06:54

Another vote for Fitflops, (and no, they're not all flip-flops!); there are hundreds of styles to choose from, and different 'footbed technologies' to suit different kinds of feet - and they're currently having a 60% sale on a wide range. I live in either these or Crocs (at home) yes I know, I know.

Endofthelinefinally · 12/11/2018 06:56

Hotter.
I have chronically painful feet, severe osteoporosis and plantar fasciitis.
Over the last few years I have bought several pairs of hotter shoes by looking out for sales and special offers.
They are so comfortable and hard wearing.
In summer I wear crocs sandals. They never wear out and are like walking on air.

FaithInfinity · 12/11/2018 07:01

I’m a nurse so spend a lot of time on my feet. Clark’s unloops are extremely popular because they’re so comfy and hard wearing. Shop around though because they appear to be cheaper than Clark’s elsewhere.

batshitbetty · 12/11/2018 07:04

Butterfly twists are super comfy

florriepeck · 12/11/2018 08:48

Tamaris ballerinas have been comfortable for me since the first wear ( I love comfy shoes); got mine from Freemans catalogue.

teta · 12/11/2018 09:21

Vionic are the nicest looking comfort shoes. I buy new from eBay or on sale as they are very expensive full price. Alternatively Fitflop are really comfy and many of them aren’t orthopaedic looking. For a budget option M&S are good.

JanetLovesJason · 12/11/2018 13:36

Next do a range called Forver Comfort that are similar to Footglove. There are some styles, a reasonable sized range and a lot come in a wide fitting as well as a normal width.

rosettesforjill · 12/11/2018 14:17

Thank you SO MUCH for all the recommendations! I have been checking them all out... decisions decisions! 😁

Inner soles can also help.

Holidayshopping · 12/11/2018 17:31

Fly London? They are the most comfortable footwear choice I’ve ever worn
