Tragus or Daith

If you have one or t'other what made you choose ?
Or if you have both , which was least uncomfortable?
And healing?

I;m hankering over daith but the tragus might be easier to physically do. (I'm not planning on piercing it myself BTW , I just have ridiculously small lobes and ears)

I had my daith pierced at Maria Tash two weeks ago - I know you can get it done cheaper elsewhere but I couldn’t resist the jewellery!

I’ve also got small ears, but was told it’s more important to look at the anatomy of it rather than the size. They had different sized rings to suit, and recommend an 8mm for me. I was amazed how little it actually hurt, yes it felt weird, but not painful at all. The only time it’s hurt since is when I’ve accidentally jabbed it trying to scratch it and forgetting the piercing is there. I don’t sleep on it and am meticulous about cleaning twice a day though.

I like the fact that, due to the position, it doesn’t get caught in anything - I had the top of the same ear pierced many years ago and it was a flipping nightmare in comparison. I was told it could take up to a year to heal, but I absolutely love it!

Tragus definitely- heals super fast compared to others. I removed my Daith as it stopped me wearing ear bud headphones! Consider a rook too - I have a tragus on left ear and took on right ear.

Oh , headphones yes.
I don't wear them (except at the gym)
Need to see where they'd rub.

A daith piercing means no bud headphones for me either- although I haven’t tried since it healed properly.

It wasn’t at all painful, much easier than my helix. Healed in about 9 months (again faster than my helix) and I could sleep on it in a week or so.

I love my daith piercing, definitely my favourite. It makes me smile whenever I see it.

ILoveDaveGrohl · 10/11/2018 09:05

I have both. Daith was the most painful by far. And it's been a bastard to heal.:(

I had my daith pierced a couple of weeks ago and so far so good. I had it done to see if it would help with my headaches (it hasn’t!) but I like the look of it as well.
I thought it would stop me from wearing earbuds but it’s been fine with them. (Beats earbuds if that makes a difference).

I’m hoping to get my tragus done next week!

Thankfully not (though Daith does sound like a Mills and Boon hero as she watched Daith Preston cross the room towards her she struck by the lithe elasticity of his stride )

I've looked at a load of photos and I've decided on a forward helix . There's a very good Tattoo/Piercer near me so I'll book up .

Tragus healed no bother, much easier than my helix (cartlidge at the top), helix was a nightmare and still painful nearly 10 years later if I wear any jewellery in it.
Tragus Initially had a bit of a bubble/blister at the back as had a double ended bar bell initially and the ball on the back irritated it but had it changed to a labret at 12 weeks and not had a single issue - less so than my normal lobe piercings that I’ve had since childhood.
Not got an issue wearing headphones or even a stethoscope (I’m a HCP)

daftyburd · 13/11/2018 06:12

I have both my tragus and daith pierced on my left ear. Tragus definitely healed quicker and was less painful. Daith took about 18 months to fully heal. I have my rook pierced on my right ear. Again not as painful as daith and no issues with bud earphones.

Uncooperativefingers · 13/11/2018 09:27

70 will you come back and let us know how your forward helix piercing goes? I keep lusting after one, but don't know anyone with on irl, and am too chicken to go for it without more information on how painful it is / healing time etc. I'm also worried I'd keep catching it as it heals

I also have quite small elf-y ears and they don't curl around at the top, so never thought a helix would look good. But I love the idea of a small discreet stud in the forward helix
