So I’ve decided I need to change up my dress style a bit and like the ankle boot/dress look. What do I look for in the boot? I’m not so keen on the block heel look or kitten but am thinking cowboy but not too cowboy iyswim! But I could be won round!

I like Chelsea type boots with dresses.

molinski · 07/11/2018 19:03

I agree @Kilash @stclair Chelsea boots look fab

Thanks ladies. If I was to go for a bit of a heel though, what would you suggest? I’m seen some around (attached to legs!) which look great. Slightly cowboyish I think? But without the stitching ....

Perhaps it’s a stacked heel I’m after? Just done a quick whip around Pinterest

I've just picked up the Kurt Geiger Spire boots and worn them out today for the first time.

They are a nod to cowboy, pointed toe type Chelsea boot with a slight heel. I'm really pleased with them and they are very comfy, although I'm going to pop in insoles for a little padding

I’ve got these and they’re very versatile.

Though I bought them before it emerged that Mr Green is a bullying arsehole.

Office did a very similar pair which I also liked.

Office ones. Though link prob won’t work - can never get the Office ones to work properly.

Sock boots? I would look for boots that you love and style accordingly.
I have a pair of old ankle boots that I hardly ever wore but this year I'm wearing them with opaques and short skirts and I love them.
They are low-medium stack heel and have a side zip.

stclair · 07/11/2018 20:56

Great! I’ve had a look at Office and I think I’m getting closer! I’ve done a bit of online investigation and it seems to be: stick with monochrome and don’t have the boot top so high it covers ankle and therefore makes you look chunkier?

I don’t think you necessarily need to show your ankle - you’re verging more into shoe-boot territory then.

Is it more this style that you’re looking for? Only cheaper and with a black heel?

I just bough the Lipsy ones from next - grey. They are super comfy, but with a heel. very happy with them!

SuperstarDJ · 07/11/2018 21:05

Like these? Have had a similar pair for years so don’t worry about that suede getting trashed - with a good suede protector spray it doesn’t.

I've got these and another pair in burgundy from M&S, both pairs are lovely and feel great on.

Like this sort of thing?

stclair · 07/11/2018 22:12

Superstar, that’s more like it. I’ve found these, they’ll work with dresses ok?
