I have really sparse eyebrows. I never tweezer them. I dye them every few weeks (they need doing again) but they still look crap.
Any suggestions please?

itsbritneybiatches · 07/11/2018 18:05

How long does microbladibg last for?

GhostCurry · 07/11/2018 18:18

Thanks crumbledumptious :)

Whenever I ask at Boots they never have it

GreyHare · 07/11/2018 19:22

@itsbritneybiatches I have had mine topped up once after a year but I could have gone longer and they have now faded slightly but I just swish on a little brow pencil if I feel the need but I only really need it on my eyebrow that is pretty much bald, and because I have the perfect shape already there is takes seconds rather than the hours I used to take only to rub it all off because it was wonky or wrong, but I'll get them topped again up around feb/march time.

If you want to try something at home you can get a small liquid eyebrow pen which has colour in it and when put on brows looks like hairs,
Sorry dont know what you would call it,has a comb like end
Got mine from ebay ,but bootss sell them, mine is called tattoo fork liquid eyebrow pen

Loonoon · 08/11/2018 09:39

Your eyebrows are a little like mine were before I had them microbladed. It’s a process I highly recommend (my practitioner is based in Enfield if that’s any help to you. I will try and attach before and after shots.

BlueUggs · 08/11/2018 09:58

I can recommend someone in Coventry.

The feathery look doesn’t suit sparse eyebrows

The 'feathery look' is sparse eyebrows isn't it? They look feathery because they're sparse. Unless feathery means something else. 🤔Half asleep today.

Rapidbrow serum is brilliant for growing brows. Downside is it takes a couple of weeks + to get going and needs to be used fairly regularly as they'll go thinner again when it's not used. But it does work.

Also if it's a fairly sudden thing you could get your vitamin levels and thyroid function checked out. Just to make sure.

They're not that bad though. Especially when coloured. You could fill them in yourself with an eyebrow powder and angled brush.

Castor oil and biotin supplements have made amazing difference to my eyebrows

macnab · 08/11/2018 13:31

@SkinnywannabeKBH could I have your recommendation for someone good to do microblading in NI please?

macnab · 08/11/2018 13:33

Loonoon your brows look amazing! So natural! I'm gobsmacked at how something simple like good brows can completely change (for the better) the look of our faces Shock

WeeSausage · 08/11/2018 13:47

I've ordered some castor oil. If that doesn't work miracles, I'll try microblading. I don't want to use pen/pencil/shadow etc because I don't have time in the mornings and it never stays on me anyway.
Thanks everyone.

OP - Where are you based? I know someone who is amazing at eyebrows! PM me if you like and I'll send you over the details to her website x

Seeyounexttue · 08/11/2018 13:53

I use the revolution brow tint from superdrug every 5 or so days. Mine are quite sparse and i have a scar in the middle of one - this looks relatively natural and is v low maintenance. I paint it on, watch Netflix for half an hour or so in the evening, then sit and peel it off (v satisfying, the adult version of covering your hand in pva glue at school!)

AnotherOneBitesTheDust · 08/11/2018 14:00

Microblading could work, if you have large pores though or oily skin it's best avoided as the ink just won't take. I've had ombre brows which are the powdered brows. I was warned off microblading as it's still a relatively new practice and in years to come when the lines have been gone over a lot of times, it won't be the same as the initial effect (thick lines). It's a personal choice though I guess. In the meantime you could try the tattoo brow that's about, is it loreal or mabelline? It's a gel that you paint on in your desired shape, leave it a few hours or overnight, peel off and the skin it 'tattoed' underneath. It lasts a few days. Other than that lots of practice with a pencil and powder!

cestlavielife · 09/11/2018 16:22

Microblading has been around for two decades. Advantage is no hassle always there.after swimming or a shower or camping ! Choose a reputable person.

JudyDenchsBloomers · 09/11/2018 17:19

If you don't want to go down the microblading route and want to see if your eyebrows can grow thicker, I've been using Rogaine for women with 5% minoxidil to sort out my thinning hairline. I normally have a tiny bit left at the end of each hairline application so swipe it over my brows. In recent weeks, my eyebrow threading lady says my eyebrows are looking thick and in good condition (before she whips the stragglers away!) so much so, that I'm picking her up a 3 month supply of the stuff when I head to the US next week. It didn't take very long and it might be worth a shot? Think you can buy it on Amazon UK if not based in the US.

WeeSausage · 29/11/2018 11:58

I've just dyed them again after about 2 weeks of castor oil. I don't think there's any improvement yet. I'll keep you updated!
