Winter glow recommendations

I've decided I hate foundation. The look of it and the way it feels on my skin. I've bought lots of different types but after one or two uses they're on the scrap heap.

I've been lightly tanned for most of the year and have used a tinted moisturiser occasionally when going out but I wondered if anyone could recommend a fake tanner that just gives a subtle glow?

It needs to be a neutral base tone, no coconut (allergy) and cruelty free.

Perhaps try a glowy primer under foundation instead? A bit speedy but Becca Backlit is good. Or at the cheaper end Soap and Glory do one - think it is called Hocus Focus. Or a powder - one of the Hourglass ambient ones.

People recommend the Clarins tanning drops - they do face and body versions but think they might be the same product but marketed differently in different sized bottles. You add to moisturiser or body lotion. M & S do a cheaper version in their Autograph range. It has been rumoured that Clarins make a lot of M & S beauty products. They gradually tan you from glow to full on tan if you keep on applying.

I am not keen on the drops. A faff on but others rave about them. (I miss the Clarins gradual face tan which was a gel-cream so I already started off on a downer because the drops replace my HG tanning product.)

I second the Clarins face drops, i use them when I remember. Oil of Olay with tanner for face is good but not sure on allergens etc.
I have started using Charlotte Tilbury's flawless filter and I always get comments on how healthy I look even though I am knackered!

I like Kiko Hydra pro glow (I think that's the name).

If I don't fancy wearing much make up, I'll wear that, a little concealer, and some mascara.

Clarins sadly aren't cruelty free.

I'm fair with warm undertones and use the St Tropez gradual mousse everywhere including my face with no reaction/break outs but they have a gradual cream specifically for your face too that's good!

Yes the CT stuff does make you look glowy and flawless. I forgot about that. I use it all over sometimes rather than just as an highlighter and it makes you look more alive. Must use tomorrow. These early mornings I am doing are making me look grey and wan.

I like by Terry cellularose brightening cc serum. Really natural glowy look and good for your skin!

Nars liquid blush orgasm. A lovely glow to the skin. Bronzing powder I like the Estee Lauder one.

Thank you for the recommendations. Not many of the companies mentioned are cruelty free I'm afraid though.

I did try the autograph drops last year. Loved the colour /effect but it brought me out in spots which was a first as I've never really had spots.

I do have some glowy primer but it's the hint of colour without any makeup that I'm after.

I've been looking at the byterry sunbooster which is supposedly a tanner without dha (not sure how that works) but as it's £70 and contains a tiny percentage of coconut, I'm not sure that's the one for me.

He-shi tan. I use the rapid 1 hour tan. Lasts about a week and it is the best fake tan I have ever used.
This is what it says on the website:
He-Shi uses the finest ingredients and 100% eco cert approved DHA to provide products that not only deliver a beautiful glow, but nourish and improve the condition of the skin.

  • Paraben free
  • Alcohol free
  • Cruelty Free
  • Vegan Friendly

Try NV BB Perfecting Mist Foundation instead, I bought it and loved the effect it has on my skin.

i'm gonna recommend Chantecaille's "just skin" tinted moisturizer and/or Chantecaille's gel bronzer - "Radiance Gel bronzer". Yes, they are obscenely expensive :( but a little goes a long way (u can mix that bronzer with your cream/foundation or use on its own), they are a joy to use and have some skin benefits too (i swear my skin gets better with it!). I'm also sure u can get a bronzer in a travel size.

I'm currently slathered in St tropez gradual tan mousse - can smell 'that smell' already and its only been an hour.

On my face I've got Soleil Terrybly. At first I thought wow but now I realise I look sparkly. There's 60 quid wasted as I never go 'out' out to warrant any hint of glitter.

Have you tried Isle Of Paradise fake tan drops.

You mix them with your usual moisturiser for both your face and body.

They’re vegan friendly, cruelty free and come in 3 different shades.

Moogoo do a cruelty free natural tanner?
