Why is my hair all static and how do I prevent it and stop it?

Do your last rinse in cool water when washing your hair and check if you're wearing very synthetic materials in ur clothes. Also some shoes or trainers cause a lot of static. I fixed it by putting a thumbtack in the sole of each shoe to earth them. Stopped me getting static shocks.

  • use dryer sheets on your brush. take one dryer sheet, (fragrance free ones here) and push it down so that the bristles poke through the sheet, and the sheet is on the base of the bristles. then brush normally

-once you have washed and brushed your hair, spray hairspray onto the hairbrush and brush through

Rub a dryer sheet lightly over the top layer of your hair.

If your hair is also slightly dry (or not at all greasy), you can put on hand cream (any kind) as you would typically, just a light coating, and rub it into your hands as usual, then waft your palms gently over the surface of your hair (not the root). Don't run / massage it in like conditioner, just kind of lightly run your freshly hand-creamed palm down the length of your hair. Hand cream contains the ingredient that gets rid of frizz.

I have found using a metal bristle brush rather than plastic or natural a massive help. It's really changed winter for me! Also you can run a wire coat hanger over it. If you go on Amazon and search for anti static hairbrush you should find something.
