How do famous people get such firm jawlines?

Watching strictly and marvelling that Tess Daly is apparently 49 and yet has a completely firm jawline. I mean, you could cut cheese with it.

Ditto Gwyneth Paltrow. I mean, I know they’re both gorgeous anyway, but they’ve got 10 years on me and I have way more in the way of jowls. How? Is this a thing I can pay for or do I just have to go through life looking like I’ve swallowed a dinner plate?

I think they absolutely have surgery.
They probably have many mini facelift throughout their career. Plus I would imagine they have fillers not just in the jawline but cheekbones and that kind of thing to provide A kind of scaffolding for the skin on the face.
They probably have tons of facials, peels, laser treatment, Botox etc.
Plus water, sunscreen, retin a and great make up !
Basically it’s a ton of money chucked at their face. But it is their bread-and-butter so why not!

“ ‘beautiful people’ on tv and in film actually have massive jaws and chins. Check out Reece Witherspoon for example. Her chin goes on for ever.”

You’re right, but I do think Reese Witherspoon is an outlier! Her chin is her most notable feature, much more prominent than most in Hollywood. She gets around it by having an otherwise cute face, nice colouring and charming persona.

Re. NIOD neck cream - I had a bottle of this. I saw Nigella post it on Instagram too. My experience: the first time I used it, I watched in amazement as it visibly tightened my neck wattle. That only happened the once. I suspect Nigella’s enthusiasm was based on that first time experience.
I did carry on using it but can’t report major differences. I suspect it’s one of those products with an immediate effect but no cumulative benefit. Like applying haemorrhoid cream to your undereyes like models do. Also, it (along with all other Deciem products) gave me large unsightly breakouts when used on my chin area.

I’ve had ultherapy AND a thread lift AND RF facials but I still have a soft jaw line, better than it was but not as tight as I would like. My aesthetic consultant told me right from the start that the only thing that would get it as tight as I’d like would be a full surgical neck and lower face lift and whilst I’m all for tweaks and interventions I draw the line at major surgery.

I think part of the problem is I have a soft rounded face with small features rather than an angular one, it looks ok IRL but doesn’t photo well. A friend who has an angular face and larger features
photographs beautifully and still has a fabulous jaw line at age 60.

So whilst interventions can make a difference they are no substitute for a good bone structure.

I don't think I ever had a sharp jawline like that even in my late teens.

I also have a wobbly... I don't know what it's called. Not a double chin, but the bit underneath that joins your chin to your neck. I've always had it even when very skinny. I suspect the only way to get rid is to have it surgically removed.

Yes, I'm the same! Even at my thinnest I still had the wobbly, it's the worst when you look from the side. I have such a weak jawline, I have to be so careful with angles in photos! Some women who are very large still have really defined jawlines, if I put on any weight at all my face turns into a doughy moon face and my jawline completely disappears into oblivion!
