Where is good for a chunky cardigan?

I’d like a chunky knit, relaxed, “boyfriend” type cardigan. The Celtic and co one is nice but I’d like an emerald green or burgundy. Woolovers don’t have anything I like. Looked in lots of high street shops but they’re mainly acrylic which I don’t like. Where else is nice for knitwear?

& other stories has loads of chunky natural fibre knitwear at the moment, but it tends to sell out pretty quickly so you have to check regularly.

Cos tend to do oversized boyfriend cardigans in 100% wool, like this www.cosstores.com/en_gbp/women/knitwear/product.speckled-oversized-cardigan-forest-green.0582718003.html - and they also seem to have other styles which might suit?

I love this from next, have the yellow and pink. www.next.co.uk/g74110s7#523038

Do a search on h&m for the premium range, it's mostly wool, cashmere and merino

Not sure if it’s what you’re after but I just got as nice chunky cardi from unio men’s.

Uniqlo!!!

taybert · 04/11/2018 10:17

I looked at uniqlo but didn’t see anything I liked- I didn’t look in the men’s section to be fair but I’m size 10 and 5’2 so guessing they’d be too big even for a boyfriend look- maybe extra small would be ok.

I didn’t find any cardigans I liked in &other stories but still managed to spend £200 Blush (some of which will go back).

I’ll look at H&M, good tip re the premium section.

I like the colour of that Cos one but prefer a chunkier style.

TK Maxx is my go to place, they have lovely knitwear - best go first thing when everything is in place and doesn't feel like a mine field

This I can help with. I'm 5'2" and a size 10. DH is 5'5" and the same weight as me. We wear the same size of men's clothes (both got 36' chest) and he wears a Uniqlo size XS. The S is much bigger so I'd go with that at least.

LittleWingSoul · 04/11/2018 20:59

I've been hunting for the same thing OP.

I couldn't find anything on the high Street at all, everything was acrylic and overpriced for acrylic IMHO!

Tk maxx was pretty much all synethic knits atm too! So disappointing.

Decided to look on eBay and managed to find a 100% cotton knit cardigan from Jigsaw for £8!

Will look at some of these tips though.

Bewarethequietboy · 04/11/2018 21:10

Have you tried Seasalt? They have great knitwear I've had a few jumpers from there and they've lasted really well and thinner cardigans.

SpamChaudFroid · 04/11/2018 21:41

I've been looking for the same thing, have ordered this, this and this.

Also eying this. Trying to tell myself I don't need 4 baggy cardies....

animaginativeusername · 05/11/2018 00:34

Most of my knitwear is from charity shops, where I have been lucky to find hand knitted chunky cardis,

SpamChaudFroid · 05/11/2018 17:58

The Free People cardy I linked to before came today, am well pleased with it. Nice heavy cashmere.

jmfan · 05/11/2018 18:07

I am a size 6 and 5ft 4. The men’s Xs at uniqlo is usually great - roomy but not too big.
