Looking stylish during maternity leave

I've been on maternity leave with DD1 for a few months now, and have settled into a uniform of basic cotton top, jeans, and trainers.

We go out for walks a lot, and the Russell and Bromley brogues and Chelsea boots I used to wear everywhere just weren't cutting it anymore in terms of comfort. I used to wear dresses, but breastfeeding means I can't. I also used to wear lovely silk tops from Reiss, Whistles, etc. but they just don't seem as practical with a baby.

I feel stuck! I used to dress well and took pride in my appearance, and now I'm a total slattern. Can you help me with baby-friendly outfit inspirations? I'm 5 10 and a size 8 (though possibly a 8/10 in bottoms due to baby ). Thank you!

Hello, just bumping for you, as I am stuck in the same boat and need some inspiration

What about a shirt dress? Buttons mean that there will be BF access. Other options are wrap dresses, or skirt plus top - you could wear a nice a line skirt in cord / wool plus a jumper with camisole top underneath for one up one down BF access.
Then add some chunky shearling boots plus tights?

Have you looked at the 'can I breastfeed in it?' Facebook group? Loads of ideas on there for creative ways to still feed while wearing normal clothes. Otherwise can you buy some decent winter boots for your walks? Comfy nice leather ones? Then you can do the nice skirt/top/tights combo as above. Having said that I lived in my walking shoes and a parka last winter as dd would not nap unless being walked in the pram.
I found doing my hair/nails/putting a bit of make up on when I had a chance served to offset the frumpy feeling from the clothes. Good luck and remember it's not forever!

Thank you! Top and skirt might be the way forward, and I'll have another look for comfy boots. I am very tempted by the hush dungarees but £100 feels a bit steep...

Try Lucy & Yak dungarees, stylish and great quality for under half the price of the hush ones...

I got several of those ruched jersey skirts from Hush / Boden, with woollen tights and boots and a jumper it just felt a little more put together than jeans. Having said that, a good pair of skinnies and some boots or hi-tops will help no matter what top
