Clarins reviews

Looking for people opinions on Clarins products ?

I have used only Clarins products for my skin care routine for nearly 10 years now. I recently went to see a dermatologist (as I wanted a few facials before my holiday, for nice 'glowing' skin) and she told me that no dermatologist would ever recommend Clarins, that it is full of chemicals and is not good for your skin.

I just wondered what other people thought of Clarins products ? If anyone has ever had any issues etc ? Or suggestions of what you use ?

Thank you

I've never found any Clarins product that's ever suited my skin. I have normal/combination skin depending on the time of year and it's not particularly sensitive or prone to breakouts usually. I like trying new products so am happy to switch around. At the moment, I'm using Eve Lom, Sunday Riley, Dr Dennis Gross and Tata Harper.

I've been using a selection of clarins products recently including the foaming cleanser, primer, gel moisturizer and pore minimising serum - wouldn't buy any of them again

I bought a Clarins moisturiser a few months ago. It's really good. And now I find it's been discontinued

I love Clarins. I used their Super Restorative range for a couple of years and my skin was never better. I stopped a few months ago and it's just so expensive but I can't find anything else to suit my skin; it's currently itchy and dry and my wrinkly forehead has returned. I'm going to have to economise elsewhere and go back to my beloved Clarins.

Really you just have to find what suits you; we're all different. As a matter of interest what did your dermatologist recommend?

I have used Clarins since my teens. I didn't like their make up but love their Beauty flash Balm, gel cleanser and Tonic shower gel.

Aren't most beauty products full of chemicals?!

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/10/2018 06:53

I never got on with them.

I like Claris (though my preferred skincare is Lancôme). Agree that Super Restorative is very good

Did the dermatologist recommend anything instead of Clarins? What "chemicals" did she mention?

"full of chemicals" is a pretty broad condemnation tbh. Every cream on the market is "full of chemicals". Chemicals aren't necessarily bad things either. Chemicals stop your cream from going off after 2 days. Chemicals are often what makes your serum work.

I've had Clarins skincare in the past, and quite liked it. I don't find it as harsh and stripping as, say, Clinique.

Clarins, Clinique, Estée Lauder, lancome etc are all a waste of money. You need to start looking at acids/vit c/retinol instead.

Thank you for all your replies! Will try and reply to everyone.

She didn't actually mention any chemicals, just said that it wasn't good for my skin, was too harsh for me and was not good for my PH balance.

As I said I have used Clarins for many years and have always loved it but recently have been having a few breakouts , oily T zone and even very very dry skin around my lips and eyes (which has been so dry it was sore).
After seeing her around 10 days ago I was very reluctant to switch creams and stop using my Clarins as I was worried this was her opinion and if she wanted to sell me something but I thought it was worth a go as my skin was getting worse. I have not used any Clarins products in 10 days and my face is actually so much better. My dry skin is nearly all gone, oil balance is much better and I have only had one spot appear.

She recommended using a 'professional' skincare range such as Crystal Clear or Heavenly.

I like the hydro mask but the smell for me is a bit too much to use all the time. My skincare is mainly Temple Spa, ive got very oily skin and this is the only range that has cleared my skin up and looking so much better.

TantricTwist · 25/10/2018 22:08

Never heard of either of them. Crystal clear seems to be recommended by Katie Price on their web site which doesnt inspire much confidence Hmm
