Winter gloves for driving

I had a pair of Totes Isotoner gloves that had rubber grips on the palms, were thermal lined, waterproof, not too bulky and windproof. They were great for de-icing the car and driving off in. Unfortunately they have died a death and I need to replace them. I would live to find something similar but they don't make them anymore.

Has anybody seen something similar? I would like in grey/ red/ purple/ blue rather than black, brown or tan.

TIA

I got some from Halfords once. They were a burgundy colour if memory serves.

Thanks, I've had a look but I can only find bulky cycling gloves on their website.

I can't bear to drive in gloves- don;t feel in control.

Why not a) use de-icer and b) start car up before you go out and leave heater on?

Or, any tight fitting leather gloves .

The only gloves I can wear when I'm driving are leather ones. I bought 3 pairs from JL last year in a sale. these ones. They come in loads of colours and are warm enough.

I had the Totes gloves too...shame they seem to have stopped making them as they were great for driving in.

I have a leather pair from M&S from a couple of years ago and I've recently bought a pair with leather palms from White Stuff that are drivable in too.

I hate driving with cold hands - definitely more distracting because they hurt over wearing gloves and having happy hands.

Queen of the Night- thank you for your opinion, however I did ask for advice on gloves, rather than alternatives to needing gloves. I am happy that stuff works for you, but its not want I want.

Odiepaints: Were these then ones that you've just bought? www.whitestuff.com/accessories-and-shoes/womens-accessories/glen-green-plain-lucy-leather-embroidered-glove/

Yes - I got the grey and red ones. They seem warm enough and I can grip the steering wheel with them.

MoteOfDustInASunbeam · 22/10/2018 20:57

Just got DH a pair of these

How about m&s leather gloves for driving and big waterproof mitts for wearing over the top when deicing the car? (this is what I do in Scotland!)

LadyLapsang · 22/10/2018 22:52

They appear to have the Totes isotonor gloves on Amazon.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 22/10/2018 22:57

I have Totes gloves similar to these, keep my hands warm and have the non-slip grip.

PhilODox · 22/10/2018 22:58

I always have leather ones for driving, from M&S, Sainsbury's, or most recently those ones linked to upthread from John Lewis.

QueenoftheNights · 23/10/2018 14:12

OP I wear leather gloves daily in winter and yes they would grip the wheel to an extent but when it's cold enough for ice, I don't think you can beat the feel of your hands on the wheel without a layer in between. I just don't think gloves give proper control- sorry if you don't like that and it's not what you wanted.
