Bra help - underarm spillage

I'm abroad with dismal choices but can order through figleaves. Based on a fitting about a year ago in London I ordered a selection of Freya bras in 34E . My weight hasn't changed but the bras are very uncomfortable. The cups seem fine but the bands a causes weird underarm pouches. I can't return easily so ordered 36E in the same three styles but the band's are loose and ride up at the back.

Bra gurus, should I stick to sports bras until I get back to London for a fitting in Dec ? it's getting expensive and the underarm boob is making me miserable.

You need a bigger cup size ad to scoop the excess underarm flesh into te cup

So I would get a 34 F/G not sure if there is a FF size

Thanks - could it maybe just the brand? The top of the wires really dig in and the sides of the actual bras seem low. Pre kids I wore a 34B. My bust seems to have migrated to under my arms - photo showing wire marks.

Now that I look at the photo there is blubber that could be included in the cup. Maybe I need to cut back on crisps and head to Bravissimo when I get to civilisation in December.
Nothing worst than an uncomfortable bra and I have six !

Have you tried the boob or bust method?

Looks like you need a bigger cup. The wires are ending on your breast rather than behind them.

Believeitornot · 19/10/2018 22:19

Get a bigger cup. You have to detach yourself away from the idea of traditional measures.

I used to think I was 34B. Then I tried the method mentioned on mumsnet and tried 30D-32D and got a much much better fit.

Maria1982 · 19/10/2018 23:36

Bigger cup most likely!

But also I find some styles in Bravissimo are just cut too high for comfort for me.
Have you tried Prima Donna? Amazing bras. Sold online or stocked by Rigby and Peller.

Strongbeatsskinny · 20/10/2018 05:36

It could be the style I have what’s known as a fuller bust you look from the picture pretty much the same.so I need the wires to sit further back. I can vary in cup size according to the brand sometimes.

When I went to an independent shop to be fitted for a bra the woman told me to scoop anything at the side forward with my hand and get it in the cup as I was getting fitted. This resulted in me going up a cup size!

One of the women at work has this issue and says she was told to always buy a bra style with side support/a side sling. Never seen any bras advertised as having this but she says there are!

CrazySheepLady · 20/10/2018 07:47

Oh yes, you can definitely get bras with side support. I have a few. I think they're by Fantasie.

I just had a fitting at Bravissimo and the fitter showed me how to put the bra on properly. One trick I learned was to hold the outside edge of the undewire with one hand and use the other hand to pull all the go on into the cup. If all the tissue is within the wires, that's the right cup size. It does sound like the cup size in the Greys brand might not be right for you. In another brand it might be perfect. I bought 2 different brands after my fitting, one a G cup and the other a GG.

I guess the secret is to try on different cup sizes, don't be too fixed on thinking you are a set size. And dont fasten the bra at the front then twist it round.

Noloudnoises · 20/10/2018 08:13

It might be the brand. I find panache underwrites go really high up into my armpit and rub.

Haven't gone wrong with fantasie which seem to stop much lower at the armpit. I like their seam free ones in bravissimo and another called Rebecca.

Noloudnoises · 20/10/2018 08:16

Just seen your pic and v similar to me but yes, you may need a bigger cup.

I like smoothing balconette and Rebecca bra on this link. Both available from fig leaves.

Oh what a pain having to order overseas and send them back again it's so hard to guess the right bra.

If you were here I'd say try some different makes as they all have their quirks.

Does figleaves have a telephone support line?

dementedpixie · 20/10/2018 08:53

A 36E will have a bigger cup than a 34E as the cup size is relative to band size. (Sister size would have been 36DD rather than 36E). If the band rides up then it is too big so I'd come back down to a 34 back and then play about with cup sizes/style of bra to get the correct fit. What do you measure under your bust and over the fullest part?

tabbycat1234 · 20/10/2018 08:54

For those asking about side sling - Bravissimo Erin is an example they are my faves I find them so comfy but the ones I have are high underwire under arm as pp said
