Unruly Fringe - help please!

Please help!

I like most of my hair it's just past my shoulders and has got a bit of a wave, but since having children lots at the front fell out and where it's regrown in my side fringe is more the texture of pubes with a smattering of grey!

I have a face that looks better with a fringe but it doesn't matter what I do to straighten it - dry straight + GHDs, or Babyliss Big Hair, by the end of the day it's awful. It looks worse if I put my hair up as it's not hidden in the rest of it.

Is there anything I can try or am I destined to grow it out and display my dodgy forehead to the world?! I am thinking that even though a good fringe looks best on me, as this very rarely happens no fringe looks better than a crazy unruly fringe?... Can anyone suggest anything?

Thanks

I have a fringe too op and it can drive me crazy at times!

I wash mine twice a day, literally takes seconds and then quick blow and straighten but not too straight, I sort of angle it a bit so sits better on my forehead.

I'm 40 and have always had mine, tried it without for a few weeks in my 20's and I hated having no fringe, hides a lot too Grin

I don't use any products on mine at all.

Do you shampoo it every time you wash it or just damp it down? Might be feasible as little ones get bigger... I went to work one day with my hair in a ponytail and fringe clipped back and my boss actually recoiled! So if I can keep it I'd like to.

Wonder if I could get a Brazilian Blow Dry on just my fringe? ...

I always shampoo it, just use a small amount, makes my fringe look and feel a million times better.

I don't suit mine off my face at all :)

Ps the Brazilian blow dry for fringe is a genius idea!

Thank you, will give it a go!

Yes, sometimes I surprise myself, might ask a hairdresser if it's a possibility.

I was always quite smug that my thick slightly wavy hair could take a blunt fringe and the Sali Hughes fringe drying method (don't have a link but it'll come up on google) worked perfectly every time. Perfect glossy straight fringe with little effort.

Than I had it cut by someone else and it's never been the same since. First time they chopped into it too much, second time it was too narrow and not heavy enough and third time it's too angled at the sides and still not heavy enough. Curls into my face at one side and takes massive effort to style. Annoyed as hell.

So I'd suggest that it might just be your hairdresser can't do the right fringe for your hair type and style. There's a world of difference between the one I used to have and this annoying thing I have now.

Not sure what the answer is but just saying it might not be all your hair's fault.

Interesting - thanks Enid. Haven't found "the one" hairdresser since moving a few years ago but you're right it never used to be so bad with my old amazing hairdresser.

Will google the Sali Hughes method - haven't heard of it maybe it will help!

Hope your next haircut fixes the issue for you!
