Would I regret changing rings?

I was young when I got engaged and married and knew I didn't like yellow gold so went for white gold not realising how much upkeep it would need in terms of replating and how much that would cost over the years.

Over the years I have become a lot more confident in my own style and what I like and I now love rose gold and more art deco styles. However would I regret changing my rings from the ones I was first given? Attached is a pic of my rings which I do love but I hate how quickly the metal looks scruffy and starts to yellow. The picture is of them straight after replating, I think if they always looked like that I would be happy but it feels ridiculous paying to replace them every 2-3 months.

Any advice much appreciated :)

They are all White Gold Ella so don't know why they are yellowing faster than others :( I think resetting in platinum in a couple of years is the best bet. Will start looking at potential prices and save up :)

They are lovely rings - is that Tanzanite in your blue one?

Not sure why you're needing them re-plated every few months. My wedding ring is white gold, 9 years old and has never been done. It isn't quite as bright as it used to be but it's a long way off yellow.

To answer your question - I wouldn't replace them as I love my rings as they are. New ones wouldn't have the same sentiment.

I don’t think I could ever change my rings, far too much sentimental value for me. If it’s just the constant upkeep can you change to platinum? Or do you just fancy a change?

Funnily enough I was in a jewellers today and she was telling me that tanzanite is going to become a very rare stone soon as it's there's hardly any left to mine!

It is tanzanite, I didn't realise it was getting rare! I have liked the look of it for years so love that I have some now :)

My engagement ring is a halo ring with a Tanzanite stone at the centre. It such an unusual colour, I get lots of compliments. Definitely keep your rings!

Perhaps the rhodium is plated over yellow gold and not over white gold? White gold is a bit yellowish but obvs not as yellow as yellow gold. I just am puzzled by your repeated need for replating. I have 20 year old rings that are still rhodium white. Honestly. Look into it. But yes, alternatively get platinum.

I had my stones reset and regretted it straight after but a few years on and I love it.

There are different grades of white gold, so depending on the mix, some will go yellow and others stay white.
I'd definitely get them re set into platinum. I think you will feel more comfortable if they look the same, so I'd probably not go for rose gold. It's just throwing money away to get tbrm replated every few months.

Meant to add that I had my engagemrnt ring stones reset from white gold to platinum and I've never regretted it.
