Shoe stretchers-do they work?

Had anybody used them, and do they work? Can you recommend some?

I've tried the usual tricks--wearing with thick socks, heat etc but with little success.

I've used them, I had a pair of DMs that I had to stretch slightly to stop them crippling me. It really does depend on what the shoes are made of though, not all will stretch. I got them on Amazon, they were made of wood with a plastic screw.

If they haven't stretched with thick socks then they may be unstretchable.

Ive had great success with the shoe stretching spray (Timpsons and Clarks stock it) and various combos of newspaper/carrier bags. Bilateral bunions AND size 9 feet here so every pair I own needs doctoring a tad before theyre comfortably wearable

Another vote for the stretching spray .

Oh interesting. I've got a pair just a bit too tight for comfort

Thank you! I didn't know about stretching sprays, or the plastic bag method. I've got a couple of pairs to stretch so going to try out all methods. And hope they are stretchable. Smile

I used to work in Clarks and there are a few products I think really work. Stretching spray is one of them it’s such good stuff! If you need something more heavy duty they do sell shoe stretchers but I never really needed to sell them as the spray was really effective.

Stretching spay combined with a shoe stretcher has worked for me every time - gradually expand the stretcher over a few days until the shoe fits comfortably. Spray alone is a bit hit and miss for me.
