If you suffer with this, what's the best removal method?
I pluck the long stragglers that appear outside my nostrils but it's painful. I hate having this!
Please tell me I'm not the only one Sad

I've thought about somethıng lıke that before Espresso but worrıed about the "stubble". Also I have very sensıtıve skin and the ınsıdes of my nostrıls are even more so

My ex had an ingrowing hair in his nose that gave him a recurring boil. How about a nose hair trimmer which I may or may not have myself?

amandadecamembert · 16/10/2018 21:18

Lol that wasn't just a random anecdote Grin I meant to say it happened because he pulled the hairs with a tweezer.

DBN1 · 16/10/2018 21:28

@amandadecamembert does it not leave stubble? And how painful is it?

Not painful at all, it just trims the hairs without the possibility of accidentally nicking your skin. Fellas have been using them for ages. It doesn't cut the hair at the skin so you don't get stubble as such, more of a trim. :)

Wax ! Saw this recommended on a thread a couple of years ago - it hurts a lot less than you’d imagine and the results are great

Cotton bud dipped in wax, stick up, wait a few seconds, pull. Fucking smarts but only for a small moment.

Ohyesiam · 16/10/2018 21:49

If you wrinkle up
Your nose and do a sort of ferret face, you can trim them with nail scissors.
Or so I’m told Blush

Candlelights2345 · 16/10/2018 22:04

Wax! I cut the strips into tiny pieces, stick them up and yank the buggers out. Only hurst for a second. Very satisfying too 😁

Eminybob · 16/10/2018 22:12

I use hair removal cream (the sensitive one). On a cotton bud just inside the nostril rims, then leave 5 mins and use more cotton buds to wipe it out.
Probably against lots of guidelines but works for me I’ve been doing it years.

Love this thread, mumsnet is great for this stuff, before I don't think probably there was anyone to ask! My nose has been looking a bit interesting lately, may look at trimmer things but starting in men's section in basis they may be better and cheaper...!

NothingOnTellyAgain · 16/10/2018 22:19

Going to try ferret face method as tide over.

DBN1 · 17/10/2018 07:37

Thanks for all the suggestions, Ive tried wax strips before but just couldn't get it to stick to the hairs for some reason.
I never thought of hair removal cream for this hair as it bloody kills my using it on my nether regions.
I'll look into a trimmer now though. Thanks everyone and NothingOnTellyAgain, you're so right. There's no one in real life I could ask this question of 😊

I get mine waxed when I’m getting my eyebrows done. It only hurts for a split second.

Smurfybubbles · 17/10/2018 07:44

I use a trimmer it's amazing!

Robin2323 · 17/10/2018 07:49

Trimmer
Me and dh have one each lol
Nose hair yuk ha ha

Trumpton · 17/10/2018 09:06

As pp said NADS . you heat the pot of wax , twirl the applicator on and put it up your nostril . Wait one min and yank.
Didn’t hurt much and no stubbly regrow !

Xiaoxiong · 17/10/2018 09:13

Ferret face method has me proper chortling I think I will have to try that when the time comes...

I have been relying on tweezers for the few random long dark whiskers on my neck. I tried wax but seemed to do nothing. Also why is it that there are no whiskers at all and then overnight suddenly there is one an inch long and tough as a steel girder! One of mine has gone white so at least it doesn't show too much.

DBN1 · 17/10/2018 15:06

Also why is it that there are no whiskers at all and then overnight suddenly there is one an inch long and tough as a steel girder Hahaha, I have a black one that regularly appears on my hip and a white one that sprouts from my ear lobe. I check often - nothing. Then when I look again, it's there and about 3 inches long. How? Why??!
