Hi, I need an intervention! I'm 51 and feeling fat and frumpy. Grey hair not helping. Can't really afford highlights/balayage. Dislike the "too dark" look of home dye. Is there anything that would tint the greys but leave my natural hair uncoloured? Do I try and blend in the greys or play up the lights/silver tones? I'm naturally brunette with reddish tones. First picture is front of head, second is the back. As you can see the front is greater than the back. Really hating feeling old and grey! Thanks.

Your hair is lovely, I would brighten it with something that really lifts the grey to a bright silver so it’s really shiny and vibrant.

Thank you yes I guess it's either hide it or make a feature of it

NO there is nothing as all dyes contain peroxide apart from wash in and out ones and they can stain the grey.

Personally I would recommend reading up on Majirel on here so you can achieve salon quality for home dye cost. That also has the added advantage of just being mixed up to need to do the roots with a tiny amount so very cost effective.

A light chestnut would work well on your hair.

Okay so I found this colour depositing shampoo in boots, I got caramel, I'm quite pleased, the effect is subtle but it's definitely warmed it up.
